My Experience with Sally Hansen Brilliant Bordeaux Diamond Strength Nail Color:
As with all the Diamond Strength Nail Colors, this comes in a sturdy glass bottle with a crystal stud embedded in front of the bottle. I find the stud cute. The applicator is fine to work with and the quantity is good for the price.
As always, I was amazed by the name. Bordeaux, as you all know, refers to wine and this was named aptly as Brilliant Bordeaux. This is a gorgeous deep crimson wine red with red and gold micro shimmer. The shimmers are in every sense micro and look really pretty in light. Indoors, it looks like a simple plain good old maroon color. This is romantic and classy, yet very attractive and funky in its own way.
The consistency is in between creamy and thin. So, it neither thickens during application nor streaks. Goes on perfectly streak free even in single coat. The first coat was similar, but a bit version of Bride’s Delight from Street Wear. It took me two coats to get exactly the same color as that on the bottle. And, it turned out extremely pretty. The micro shimmers sparkled beautifully in sunlight. This color retains its freshly applied look for 5-6 days and will stay on for much longer, if finished with a top coat.
The only problem I had was with the drying time. It put my patience to test and this was the case with Save the Date as well. But, seeing the end results, I don’t mind waiting for some time.
This a perfect winter/fall shade and will look equally stunning on hands as well as feet. I feel this color is so pretty that it can be the hero of any look. In fact, I am thinking of building entire look around it!!!
