Sally Hansen Chartreuse Chase Insta-Dri Nail Lacquer Review, Swatch

Sally Hansen Chartreuse Chase Insta-Dri Nail Lacquer

Hi everybody!

I’m back with the review of my most favorite beauty product- a Nail paint, of course. The one I’m reviewing today is Sally Hansen’s Chartreuse Chase and it is from Sally Hansen’s Insta-dri range of nail paints. It’s been months since I’ve owned this nail paint and it’s actually a very spring/summer kind of color, but I just got to reviewing it now- guess, procrastination got the better of me.

Anyway, now that I am reviewing it, I’ll give a little insight about the shade first. Truth be told, when I bought this nail paint, I was kind of intrigued by the name the most, so I immediately looked it up in my dictionary. Chartreuse means a pale green or yellow liquor, made from brandy and herbs. And this color is “exactly” that. Read on to know more about it.

My views on Sally Hansen Chartreuse Chase Insta-Dri Nail Lacquer:

Packaging:

I really do like the packaging of Sally Hansen Insta-dri nail paints. These come in a very stylish and edgy glass bottle with a black brush handle. The packaging is sturdy and after having dropped the bottle a few times, I can say that is travel friendly, a.k.a break-free too.

Shade:

The shade ‘Chartreuse Chase’ is a yellowish pale green kind of color. It looks more pale green or more yellow, depending upon the light. The nail contains very minute shimmer particles that are visible only in broad sunlight (like in the swatch, which was taken in natural light, outdoors). This shade is rather a tricky one and not very easy to pull off. I’ve worn it on several occasions and it has completely washed my hands out. Whereas, on the other occasions, when I accessorized my hands keeping in mind the color of this nail paint, it looked really pretty on my hands. I’d say, it’s a very pretty color for people with fair/ medium toned hands and people with darker skin tone can avoid it.

Texture:

The texture of Sally Hansen nail paints is the sole reasons why I keep buying the same brand nail paints. It is hands down my favorite texture of nail paints. It is neither too runny, nor too thick. It doesn’t feel heavy on the nails like some nail paints do. It gives a very smooth finish, so much so, that I don’t remember ever topping off my Sally Hansen nail paints with an additional top coat. It does not feel sticky on the nails either.

Color payoff:

In the swatch I have applied three coats of the nail paint but otherwise, I just apply two coats and the nail paint is good for at least 5-6 days. Also, this nail paint literally dries in less than a minute (hence the name- Insta dri), so no worries about botching up the application.

Longevity:

It easily stays on my nails for 4-5 days without any major chipping, but the color does fade a little by the third day or so.

Pros of Sally Hansen Chartreuse Chase Insta-Dri Nail Lacquer:

• Value for money!
• The brush applicator works like magic. It eases down the application and makes the application more neat and precise in one go.
• Considerable quantity for the price. I’m sure it’s going to last me a long time.
• Sturdy packaging
• Dries instantly
• Stays on for around 5 days without any major chipping.
• Gives a very smooth finish and doesn’t feel heavy on the nails.

Cons of Sally Hansen Chartreuse Chase Insta-Dri Nail Lacquer:

• Color starts fading after 3 days or so.
• Nat easily available in India.
• People with darker skin tone can avoid it.
• Season-specific color. Not really suitable to be worn in the current season.
• Texture has changed overtime, it has become slightly thicker.

Will I repurchase this/ do I recommend Sally Hansen Chartreuse Chase Insta-Dri Nail Lacquer?

I won’t repurchase the same shade, but for sure some other shades from Sally Hansen next time. I recommend Sally Hansen nail paints to everyone.

IMBB rating: 3/5 (-1.5 for the tricky color, -.5 for rest of the cons).

Conclusion on Sally Hansen Chartreuse Chase Insta-Dri Nail Lacquer:

Sally Hansen is my favorite brand when it comes to nail paints and I keep going back to it because of the unique brush applicator, wide shade selection and great texture. A big shoutout to Sally Hansen!!!
