Sally Hansen Diamond Lip Treatment – Antique Bronze Review

Sally Hansen Diamond Lip Treatment – Antique Bronze Review

I wanted to buy some neutral shade of lip gloss that can be worn with or without lipstick.  I was not sure about what shade I wanted.  So, I just picked some random shade that seemed quite neutral to me.  Also, my lips are pigmented, so I always look for lip products that can hide and cure them at same time. I know it’s too much to ask for, but we can always hope.  Let’s check out more details about this product.

Sally Hansen Diamond Lip Treatment

Packaging:

This is the first thing I liked about this product, the classy packaging was one thing that attracted me towards this. The body carries name Diamond Lip Treatment and you get a silver stone also.

It has got subtle shimmers which are not very visible after application. It just imparts a glossy look, not much color.

My Take on Sally Hansen Diamond Lip Treatment – Antique Bronze:

I am personally a fan of bronze, copper, and n*de shades.  This shade looks quite good in the tube, but when applied, it does not impart the shade in the tube at all.  As my lips are pigmented, I cannot carry this color alone.  I tried it on top of brown and n*de lipsticks, it just imparted a glossy finish to the lips, but I think it could turn out to be a nice sheer gloss on non-pigmented lips. This gloss is very sticky, it is difficult to carry it off.  Even if you touch your lips by mistake, your fingers will feel sticky.

This is a major drawback of this product.  Also, the staying power is very less. Although you cannot expect much of staying power from a lip gloss, but at least it should stay for some time. It does not survive even a small snack. In the swatches, I have applied it after concealing and lining my lips with a n*de liner. I have coated my lips several times to make the color visible in pics, but it started bleeding after that.

Sally Hansen Diamond Lip Treatment

Overall, I did not like this product.  I do not even know how to use this.

Pros of Sally Hansen Diamond Lip Treatment – Antique Bronze:

  • Nice lip gloss to carry over n*de lipsticks.
  • Name says “diamond lip treatment,” though I am not sure whether it treats the lips or not.
  • Very subtle shimmer that gives a glossy look.
  • I liked the brush applicator, it’s very comfortable to use.

Cons of Sally Hansen Diamond Lip Treatment – Antique Bronze:

  • Very sticky.
  • Does not hide pigmentation, it’s a sheer gloss, although looks quite pigmented in the tube.
  • Staying power is very low.
  • Price is a bit on the higher side.
  • It bleeds if you swipe it multiple times.

IMBB Rating:

2/5

I will not recommend this product if you have pigmented lips. There are many more non-sticky options available in the market. If you are okay about the stickiness, then it’s a nice shade.  I will not repurchase it as I am not able to use even this one properly, forget about buying another one!
