There is always a first time they say and now I know why. Inspired by all the lovely nail polish reviews, I wanted to share my views on the Sally Hansen nail polish in the shade Lavender Envy. This was a random pick from Delhi Airport and I did not even have a proper look at the shade while picking this up. The only thing that was on my mind was that it will not be a repeat as it is my first Sally Hansen.
My Experience with Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color – Lavender Envy:
Packaging: Sally Hansen range comes in a variety of packaging. This was standing among a lot of other polishes from various ranges, but initially, it was the cute and sturdy look that attracted me. The shade name and number is mentioned on the top which makes it easy to find in the stash. The brush is a normal one which performs pretty well. I have no complaints in this regard.
Shade: I picked this up thinking of adding a baby pink in my collection, but I was pleasantly surprised to find this to be duo-chrome. There is a greenish hue to the pink which makes the shade a unique one. The hue not only makes the shade glam, but adds to the beauty of the shade. So if you are looking for a pretty baby pink with a twist, here is your pick.
Texture: I have been using the polish for a year and it is still intact. No drying or thickening. I hate it when nail polishes thicken and become a pain to apply. Adding paint thinners make the polishes lose their intensity and you would have to apply an extra coat to get the desired intensity. Owing to the sheer color of this particular polish, I apply two coats minimum for the actual color to show. I have considered adding a n*de base coat which enhances the beauty of the shade and in that case, a single coat reveals the shade.
My polish stays in place on my left finger nail longer than on the right. No exception here as well. It stays in place like freshly applied for 3 days straight with all household chores, which is impressive. After that, it starts to chip off from the tips.
Honestly speaking, I am not much of a nail polish person, but once in a while, I like experimenting with shades and glitters. As a random pick, I must say that this has surprised me very pleasantly. I am surely going to pick up more from the brand in the coming days.
