Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Lacquer – Violet Voom

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Lacquer – Violet Voom

Hi everybody!

A couple months back, I was in the phase where I was totally obsessed with lipsticks. Now the obsession has slightly shifted over to nail paints and matte eye liners. So today I’m reviewing a nail paint for you all. It’s Sally Hansen insta-dri nail lacquer in the shade ‘violet voom’ which is a beautiful bluish-violet nail color. I picked up this nail paint solely because of the texture and the opacity, which I have been immensely impressed with ever since I got my first Sally Hansen nail paint, about 2 years back. Read on to find out more about it.

Product description: Nail color covers in just one coat, brilliantly. The Perfectionist Brush™ contours to any nail, so color always glides on precisely, quickly, flawlessly. And, the exclusive Flexiglass Complex combines beautiful, brilliant shine and super-strong wear. So simple, so Sally.

• Dries in 60 seconds
• One coat coverage
• Instantly irresistible shades
• No DBP, Toluene or Free Formaldehyde
Product price: $5-$7 for 9.17ml (I bought it for around HKD 60 which is INR 500 approx.)

My views on Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Lacquer – Violet Voom

Packaging: Unlike the previous Sally Hansen nail paint I reviewed from the the Maximum Growth Range, the Insta-dri nail paints have a rather stylish packaging with the semi-cylindrical brush handle/ triangular bottle. The back of the bottle has all the necessary details mentioned including the name of the shade. The bottle is actually quite sturdy and unbreakable (trust me on this one, I’ve dropped it on the floor at least ten times unintentionally. LOL). And like I mentioned earlier too, the brush is THE best part. it’s a flat brush with super smooth bristles and the brush is slightly curved at the edges which makes the application all the more easy and hassle-free.

Shade and texture: the shade ‘Violet voom’ is a bluish-violet which has extremely minute blue shimmer particles that are visible only in broad daylight but these shimmers give the nail paint a beautiful sheen. This shade makes my hands look bright and fair and makes my fingers appear slightly less chubby. Coming to the texture- it’s probably one of the best textured nail paints I own. It’s super smooth and not at all runny/ sloppy like the previous one I reviewed.

Color payoff: in the swatch I have applied two coats of the nail paint but otherwise, I just apply a single coat and the nail paint is good for at least 5-6 days. I actually love such nail paints which don’t require 3-4 coats to stay in place because then those ones just end up making the nails feel slightly heavier. Also, another great thing about it is that it literally dries in less than a minute (hence the name- Insta dri).

Longevity– It easily stays on my nails for 4-5 days without chipping, although I did notice that the color started fading a little after the third day.

Pros of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Lacquer – Violet Voom

• Since a single coat is sufficient most of the times, it’s going to last me a very long time
• It has the most amazing brush applicator- flat and slightly curved at the edges which actually eases the application of the nail paint to a great extent.
• Value for money
• Sturdy packaging
• Great color payoff
• Dries instantly
• Stays on for around 5 days without any major chipping.
• Has a brilliant shine.

Cons of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Lacquer – Violet Voom

• Color starts fading after 3 days or so.
• Not easily available in India
• I’ve owned this nail paint for over a year now and I’ve noticed that the texture has changed a bit over time.
• It’s not really a con, but weirdly enough, this nail paint looks different on everyone.

Will I repurchase Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Lacquer – Violet Voom?

I’ll try some other shade next time. And I recommend it for the texture and the unique brush.

IMBB rating: 3.75/5

Conclusion: I can say it without any doubts that Sally Hansen is my “the most favorite” brand of nail paints and manicure kits and I’ll continue to purchase more products from the brand and also, keep reviewing them for you. 😀
