My Experience with Schick Hydro Silk Razor:

The concept of shaving among us Indian women is not very popular. We would rather prefer waxing over shaving, but shaving is the most convenient and also the best option for emergency situations and saves a lot more time and money than visiting the beauty parlor every single month.  The product I will be reviewing is the Schick Hydro Silk. I always use a razor to get rid of unwanted hair on my hands, legs , underarms etc. This razor is excellent at doing that and by far this razor has given me the closest smoothest shave than any other razor I have tried.

This razor consist of 5 blades which are very sharp and they give you the closest shave without causing any irritation or bumps.  The handle is made of plastic with some ridges as design which help in providing an excellent grip on the razor. The razor handle is also of the right thickness to fit comfortably in the hand. Also, the beautiful slightly see-through blue color of the handle mimics water and looks very cool.

This razor also claims to have a “water-activated moisturizing serum strip” above and below the blades which help hydrate and moisturize the skin while shaving. My skin does feel very smooth and moisturized after using this blade, hence I can support this claim they make. The moisture strip does not leave any greasy feeling on the skin after you are done rinsing.

The 5 blades are very sharp hence you have to be very careful not to press the razor too hard on the skin or it will cut you.  A light-handed but firm glide will give you a clean, full shave in a single stroke, no more going over the same area over and over again which in turn causes razor bumps and irritation.

Since the blades are so sharp, they do not get dull easily. The razor will last me for 3-4 months easily without replacing the blades if I use it once or twice a week.

The cons that I have noticed while using this razor is that since this razor gives a very close shave, I have noticed that after a few days when hair starts to grow back, I suffer from a lot of itching due to ingrown hair.  Also, the size of blade is a little wider and bigger than normal razors, hence it can get a little difficult to get this to glide easily on smaller hard-to-reach areas.

Overall, I am satisfied with this product.

• Causes loads of itching when hair grows back due to the closeness of the shave it provided.
