Sebamed Anti Dry Revitalizing Shampoo Review

Sebamed Anti Dry Revitalizing Shampoo

Hey everyone,

I am going through the worst phase in case of face and hair. I have thin and dry hair. I am planning to take Ayurvedic medicines as well to get my glow and beautiful hair back!!! Last month I went to my massi’s place and there I saw Sebamed Shampoo lying in her washroom. So when I inquired she told me that she went to Fortis for a checkup and their doctor suggested this shampoo. She was suffering from the same problem like mine. I had very good hair, but due to repetitive rebonding my hair become thin and fine and very weak from roots, so I almost lost all the volume I had. I have never used any product from this brand, but have heard a lot about it.

Direction for Use:

Thoroughly wet the hair. Put a sufficient amount of shampoo into the palm of your hand. Create a lather to shampoo the hair. To increase protection during the cleansing process, wash off the generated foam with lukewarm water and wrap the towel to remove water. Rubbing the hair creates mechanical stress. This what I have gathered about pH 5.5

Since the 1960s, Sebamed has been a pioneer in ultra mild soap-free cleansing and skin care products, which match the acidity of the skin’s hydrolipid barrier with pH 5.5 to naturally allow barrier recovery.Healthy skin has an intact protective barrier which defends against environmental irritants and guards against dehydration. In fact, the surface of the skin is covered with a hydrolipid film called the acid mantle which is slightly acidic (pH 5.5). The acid mantle is essential for supporting the barrier functions of the outermost layer of the skin – the Stratum corneum.

Disruptions in the skin’s barrier function can lead to sensitive and dry skin. The skin then becomes susceptible to outside (allergens, irritants, weather, infection) and internal (stress, hormones, diseases) factors which can trigger skin inflammation. Moisture is lost through unprotected cracks in the outermost layer of the skin and the skin is also more prone to infections.

My experience with Sebamed Anti Dry Revitalizing Shampoo:

Packaging- This shampoo comes in the regular packaging. The bottle is sturdy and can be used while travelling.

Texture- The shampoo is quite thick and gel like in consistency.

Fragrance– It has a very mild fragrance. The fragrance just goes away after hair wash and doesn’t cling to your hair. I really liked that it comes with a mild smell.

My roots have become very weak and I face lot of breakage at the time of washing of hair. Hair has become thin and dry. I feel lot of itching and irritation on scalp as well. That might be due to dandruff as well which I keep on getting. So I thought of giving this shampoo a try after receiving a good feedback from my massi. I mixed it with water at the time of application and applied it on my scalp and left it for 2mins and washed off. The shampoo lathers very well and . It did clean my hair. It added little volume to my hair and my hair did not look flat. Hairfall was also controlled. Usually while washing and oiling; my hair breaks a lot But that didn’t happen from very first time. Only 4-5 strands were out; which is normal. It didn’t weigh down my hair nor make it greasy. For those with extremely oily hair, can skip conditioner. It has the product description and usage mentioned on the bottle. I took detailed information from Sebamed site but list of ingredients is no where mentioned.
The quantity is sufficient and may last for 2-3 months if used thrice in a week. It contains active wheat germ complex of proteins and amino acids; which is good for hair. Its been 1 month that I am using this shampoo and I didn’t face any problem. My hair fall has slightly reduced and itching of scalp is not there. It gives bounce to my hair but that is temporary and for the day. I wish I could see its ingredient as well. All in all I really love this shampoo.

Pros of Sebamed Anti Dry Revitalizing Shampoo:

-Good consistency and lathers very well.
-It clean scalp very well.
-Gives volume to hair.
-It made my hair smooth and soft after every wash
-Control on Hair fall
-Good for all types of hair except for extremely oily scalp

Cons of Sebamed Anti Dry Revitalizing Shampoo:

-Bit expensive

Will I repurchase/recommend Sebamed Anti Dry Revitalizing Shampoo?

Yes I will totally recommend it to people who have thin flat hair like me. And I will surely buy this again as it gave volume, clean scalp and foremost thing that no hairfall at the time washing.

  1. I have very drub and frizzy hair! I had a very thick volume and straight tresses! I lost them all! I’m confused on what shampoo/conditioner/serum I’ve to use! Also does this revitalising shampoo contain parabens Mans SLS’s?
