I am reviewing here today, this toner from Sebamed which was recommended by a skin specialist to me around 2-3 months back. Sebamed is a highly raved about brand and claims to be the No.1 brand for skin care products in Germany. You can check their website here.
What the Company Claims about the Product:
• Sebamed Clear Face Deep Cleansing Facial Toner (150mL) gently cleanses the face removes excess sebum, oil and dirt.
• It offers antibacterial action and is therefore extremely effective in preventing the developement of pimples.
• Panthenol encourages skin regeneration and hamamelis soothes it.
• Silk proteins and allantoin act as moisturisers.
• The pH value of 5.5 encourages the natural protective acid mantle and takes biological action against bacteria causing acne.
To cleanse the face, Sebamed Clear Face Deep Cleansing Facial Toner should be applied to a cotton wool pad and smoothed evenly over the face.

• Cleanse face with Clear Face Cleansing bar, foam or Liquid Face & Body wash.
• Pat dry and apply Toner with a cotton pad. wipe face in a circular motion towards hairline.
• Follow with moisturizer.

My Experience with Sebamed Deep Cleansing Facial Toner:
This particular toner was recommended by a dermo to me and Rauni (fly girl) both around 2-3 months back. I was using my TBS sea weed toner then and was more than satisfied with it, but since this was recommended by a skin specialist, I thought it must be good. I started using the toner immediately, say that day itself.
On first application, I felt it turned my face a little greasy. I applied my moisturiser after this and within half an hour, my face was super greasy. I wondered if it was just another bad skin day.
Following day, I applied it and noticed that it made my face sticky picky/very shiny/greasy kinds again. I called up rauni and asked her if she was facing the same problem, and she told me , may be I was using more than the required quantity, so I should use less of it . I tried this next time and still it made my face super greasy. With time, I got back to my TBS toner and I would use this for my night-time CTM routine only. Whenever I had used it at night, I would wake up with a horrid oily face, enlarged pores and increased white heads .
Since the toner was doing more harm to my skin than good, eventually I gave up on this and offered it to my sister-in-law to use it as she has normal-dry skin. She has been using this toner for past month and she absolutely loves it and calls this her HG toner now.
My skin is slight oily and sensitive and I had well informed the dermo about it . I wonder if this product is meant for oily skin or just that it didn’t suit my skin. I am definitely not buying this again.
Summing its pros and cons( from my point of view and experience):
:yes: it removes dirt and grime from the face whatever is left even after cleansing.
:yes: is gentle on my sensitive skin, did not cause any irritation/redness.
:no: makes my slightly oily skin super greasy/sticky.
:no: contains alcohol.
:no: is a little expensive @ INR 400 for 150 ml quantity.
:no: not available easily.

me using the seaweed one too and very satisfied with it. Mine is a normal to oily skin. tried other toners like the VLCC rose toner and the regular rose toner (dabur) but wierdly enuf they didnt work..got slight pimples with it. The TBS seaweed seems to have worked best so far.
hey aruna, i get white heads n pimples with rose water too..i cant use it for toning…
i guess its good only for dry skin…
i hav had major issues wid dabur rose water…. :yuck: :yuck:
oh thank god I am not the only one. :puchhi: I should have stopped using Rose water a long time ago but I thought how can rose water cause those problems? well better late than never.. :haanji:
aruna, m using rose water by lotus now and it is by far the only rose water that suits my skin 🙂
oh 🙁 sounds bad. currently I am only using rose water as a toner as my TBS TREE TEA OIL toner got over. :nababana:

at the beginning of the review i had a good feeling about this product, but i guess it’s not for oily skin 😐
i have super oily skin n no matter what toner or moisturizer i use (n even if i skip the moisturizer) before going to bed at night, i wake up with disgustingly oily sticky face! :yuck: :yuck: …*sigh* :methinks:

thanks a bunch Nupur. I had the same experience with it just after 2-3 uses. But i thot how can it b bad being such a reputed brand n all…so was thinking to give it another try soon. First time i tried it broke me out baddd…seriously!! Now i won’t dare to put my skin thru it again.
Wat to do with the almost full bottle, thats the Q. Probably my husband can use it as an aftershave….wud be much better than the regular super-alcoholic aftershaves that they use. Hav to convince him!

that is strange! Mayb ur derma went just by the name.
And how the company claims it to be good for acne-skin. I bought it after reading many reviews on it….only few were bad, otherwise most were ok with it. So i thot i’d be lucky too. I hope this review helps others to get the real facts.
