How are you doing today? We are pretty fine and busy preparing for our upcoming trip to Las Vegas in September. Yay! I am getting motivation and inspiration from IMBB for almost everything now! Hope we take many more trips in future. Anyway, I am also here to share another makeup product from my kit. Recently, I came across some Sephora Collection makeup products and picked few of their bestsellers, and Instant Eye Makeup Remover is one of them. I didn’t find anything unique about it, but its paraben free, mild formula justifies why I am still using it despite being slightly disappointed.
What it is:
A refreshing eye makeup remover gentle enough for contact wearers and those with sensitive eyes.
What it is formulated to do:
This multitasking makeup remover erases all traces of makeup, refreshes the eye contour area, and strengthens lashes. Its formula includes HydroSenn+, a natural ingredient proven to deliver immediate and long-lasting hydration more effectively than hyaluronic acid.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
What else you need to know:
HydroSenn+ is a plant-derived ingredient exclusive to Sephora that leaves skin feeling soft and luxuriously comfortable.
$6 for 1.69 Fl Oz and $9.50 for 4.2 Fl Oz, price varies across stores
My Experience with Sephora Collection Instant Eye Makeup Remover:
This water based makeup remover comes in a transparent plastic bottle packaging with a screw cap and perforated lid for ease of usage. I would have appreciated a pump dispenser for this watery solution though. It does have a faint smell which is not overpowering and I am fine with it. Overall, I find it quite convenient and travel friendly.
I like this teal blue watery eye makeup remover for its lightweight water based formulation which is mild on my sensitive eyes as well as skin. I also feel that it certainly does what it claims to upto some extent, not perfectly & completely though. The brand suggests to leave the makeup remover on our skin for a minute prior removing makeup, but honestly I have no patience to wait for a minute even. 😛 I simply dab generous amount of remover on cotton ball/pads and wipe off my makeup.
However, I feel that this way I always end using more product than actually needed to wipe off our eye makeup. In any case, we need generous quantity of remover to get rid of every single trace of eye makeup. I tried using 3-4 drops, but it didn’t work that way; in fact, I ended up massaging it a bit on eyes. It simply smudged my makeup that way and hence I always apply generous quantity to get rid of makeup with no massaging or tugging/pulling my skin. I am quite happy to see that it definitely works effectively on any type of stubborn, fresh or hours old makeup.
It not only removes the traces of waterproof eye liners or eye shadows, but is equally effective for glittery eye makeup products provided we use the generous amount of remover with cotton. It is also capable of removing most stubborn waterproof mascara off my lashes without any issues of losing them. It never hurts or irritates my sensitive skin or eyes even if it accidentally enters my eyes. It has the potential to sweep away the most stubborn, heavy bridal/party eye makeup with just one gentle stroke provided we use it more than required.
It is also impressive that it does not dry out my skin even after comprising of alcohol unlike what I have experienced with other eye makeup removers. But, I am more concerned about its quantity as I fear I might finish this bottle within a month or so. And, for that matter it does seem pricey as we do get plenty of options in the market which work pretty fast with just a drop of product!
What so ever, it still lies in my kit because it is mild and soft on my eyes & skin, and also it works effectively for every type of eye makeup, though with little trick. I might not get it again though as I am more inclined towards new purchases and launches.
Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of Sephora Collection Instant Eye Makeup Remover:
• A lightweight, paraben free, non-sticky eye makeup remover
• Delicate on our eyes and skin around eyes
• It effectively removes every trace of makeup without irritating or hurting our eyes, lashes or skin around eyes
• It can even remove even most stubborn and glittery makeup
• It does not cause any irritation or hurt my sensitive eyes even if I accidentally massage it closer to my waterline
• It is safe enough for lens wearer or sensitive eyes
Cons of Sephora Collection Instant Eye Makeup Remover:
• You need to wait for a minute to effectively remove eye makeup
• I always end up using more than required because I cannot wait for a minute
• It does not remove eye makeup instantly
• I have not noticed any such ‘lash growth‘ in these 1-2 weeks
Well, I seriously feel that there is nothing unique or fancy about this makeup remover other than its mild and delicate formula, even if it’s paraben free. You won’t mind skipping this product. Personally, I am also done with this product and want to try something more effective and reasonable for the price!
