My Experience with Sephora Collection Multi-Texture Sponge:

I wanted to buy a Beauty Blender from Sephora but, when I came across this product in store, I changed my mind. I’ve seen many beauty vloggers using a silicone blender of similar shape like this. Now that the original Beauty Blender is easily available on e-commerce sites in India, I decided to choose this sponge over the Beauty Blender.

Sephora Collection Multi-Texture Sponge Review Packaging

I am glad I chose this one, as it meets all my expectations to a great extend. It feels very comfortable in holding the sponge with my four fingers behind the sponge and my thumb in the front. This makes it very convenient to use. I am quiet impressed with the teardrop shape of the sponge, as the tip of the sponge is very much useful for precise application of foundation, concealer under eyes and helps in reaching out for small areas of face, which requires camouflage and contouring. The tip of the sponge can also be useful in the correction techniques while applying different kinds of concealers on face. For this, you would have to apply the application on the edge of the sponge and carefully dab it on the smaller areas of your face. This sponge works by dab method and blends in the foundation seamlessly without any effort. The wider and lower part of the sponge is useful in spreading the foundation on the wider areas of face like forehead, cheeks and neck.

Sephora Collection Multi-Texture Sponge Review Teardrop Shape

This sponge is specially designed to help us out with application of liquid, cream and powder foundation. To check whether it really fares well with three different formulas, I’ve taken a test to see if it really stands up to its claims. I’ve tested this on both liquid and cream foundation and it blended the foundation effortlessly and evenly giving me a nice blended look. Since I do not use powder foundation, I’ve tried using this one, in application of my powder compact and felt my Kabuki Brush does a better job than this one. Sadly, it failed to impress me with the powder formula. I have to dab the powder multiple times, in order to achieve the look which I desired, whereas, this isn’t a case with my Lottie London Kabuki Brush, which I use to set both my liquid foundation and pressed powders on regular basis. It gives me the desired result with just one swipe and I don’t have to use excess product or dab multiple times to achieve the look. So, this is a yay to liquid and cream foundations and big nay to powder formulas.

Moreover, its function is not just limited to foundations. I also use this in setting my cream concealer under eyes and the perfect shaped edges of the sponge makes it so convenient for me to mark a line below my cheekbone while contouring. Again! This would work well with cream and liquid formulas. Since it didn’t work great on my pressed powder, I don’t think this would fare any better on contouring powders. I used to apply different products with different brushes, which solely serves the purpose they are meant for. But, I wouldn’t mind using this sponge for applying foundation, cream contouring and concealing, if I’m getting late or if I’m in a hurry.

Sephora Collection Multi-Texture Sponge Review After Usage

I am glad it doesn’t drink much product and doesn’t stain that badly. I tried washing this sponge a couple of times and it easily got rid of all the stains, looking clean again. After washing the sponge, I was able to squeeze all the water and it dried quickly within minutes. At first, the sponge was a little hard but after its first wash, it became soft and more easy to use. If you are planning to buy this one, I recommend washing it before using it for first time. The material used to design the sponge is quiet impressive, as it doesn’t tear or smear.
I am quite happy with how it functions and this multi tasking sponge is a must try for people with dry skin, who use liquid and cream foundations on daily basis. Like any other sponge that Sephora has to offer, this too comes in a square plastic packaging. All the necessary details and instructions are mentioned on a black card inside the plastic pouch. The packaging is quiet simple and decent, but it is not that fancy like a beauty Blender.
