I am back with another review and this time it is from a star brand. Today’s review is on Sephora Collection Rouge Cream Lipstick 04 ‘The Red’. Well, before I begin saying something about the product, I want to thank IMBB for sponsoring me this product. This is my first lipstick from Sephora Collection and I was so happy when it got delivered. I have extremely dry lips, so I wanted a lipstick that has a creamy consistency and nourishes my lips. Sephora has a plethora of lipstick collections in different formulations and a classic red lipstick purchase from this brand would be a kick start to add to my makeup stash. So, let’s get started with the review.

My Experience with Sephora Collection Rouge Cream Lipstick 04 The Red:
Sephora Collection Rouge Cream Lipstick comes in a gorgeous collection of about 46 shades. The shade collection is bomb. Some lipsticks have a metallic finish whereas some lipsticks have a satin finish. Everyone will find some shade that perfectly complements their skin tone.
Packaging:
The Rouge Cream lipstick bullet comes housed inside a classic black tube with a black cap on it. The bottom of the lipstick tube is transparent and you can peek through the shade of the lipstick inside. This type of packaging makes shade identification a lot easier. On the body of the tube, the brand name is embossed, which gives it a more edgy look.
The packaging is minimal yet very attractive. It is similar to the packaging of other lipstick collections from Sephora. The black cap closes securely in place with an audible click. There are no details related to the product description and ingredients list on the tube’s body. Overall, the packaging is travel-friendly and sturdy.
Shade:
The shade “The Red” is a beautiful classic red shade that has bluish undertones in it. I love choosing red lip colors when I am purchasing from high-end brands because the finish that is delivered by red lipsticks in such brands is commendable. The colour corresponds perfectly with its shade name.
When I wear it, it instantly brightens my face and gives a classic look. This colour is very suitable for wedding and party looks. Perfect winged eyeliner with golden eye shimmers in it paired with this lipstick will give a bomb look. The colour is so flattering that it will suit all Indian skin tones pretty well.
Pigmentation:
The pigmentation of this lipstick is super rich and intense. On my lips, it needs 1-2 swipes to obtain the true colour payoff. Pigmented lips will need about 3-4 swipes to hide their lip pigmentation completely. It is very easy to layer the product to build the intensity and it will never feel heavy or cause crumbling. This lipstick is mildly scented, the odour is very light and it will not be overpowering for sensitive noses.
Texture and Finish:
Being a cream lipstick, it has a super creamy texture that glides on the lips smoothly for an even application. It does not cause any pulling or tugging during application. This lipstick provides the right amount of sheen and glows which looks perfect. This lipstick is a big relief to me because I have super dry lips if not prepped. It hydrates and nourishes my lips and gives a creamy finish. It never dries out my lips.
The formula is very lightweight and does not cause any discomfort when I rub my lips. I think it is definitely worth the price you pay for it. When you buy lipsticks with a creamy formula, you can even apply it without prior moisturisation. This is a big benefit of this lipstick. It does not get patchy and does not highlight the harsh lines of my lips. But this lipstick is not completely smudge-proof and transfer proof.
To make this lipstick last longer, I dab some loose powder on my lips. Then, I line the cupid’s bow of my lips to make an ‘X’ with a lip liner. This gives me fuller looking lips and also helps the lipstick to stay in place longer. You can also apply the lipstick using a lip brush for a more precise and defined application.
Staying Power:
This lipstick stays for a decent amount of time. It can stay for about 5-6 hours and it would not need any reapplication. If you are having oily meals, then the formula breaks down from the centre of your lips and the intensity fade away slowly. After that, you would need reapplication. When it fades away, it does behind a light tinge of colour which looks amazing. Removal of this lipstick is super easy. Any normal makeup remover can remove it completely.
Overall:
I feel this is a great purchase from a brand like ‘Sephora’. The colour is truly gorgeous. Pigmentation and texture are also very nice. It never dries out my lips. The only con I find in this lipstick is that it is not very long staying. Other than that, I love this product and it is my go-to red lipstick for now. I think owning a classic red shade like this is necessary for the makeup closet. So, I definitely recommend this to the readers.
