My Experience with Sephora Collection Rouge Matte Lipstick M11 Rebel Chic:

I got this cute little travel-sized lipstick months back and it was lying in my stash unused. Recently, I discovered this pretty red lipstick while organizing my makeup. I tried it on and loved the color! So, here comes the review on this lipstick. Let’s begin with the packaging of this lipstick. The lipstick comes in a very nice black-colored tube. The tube has a velvety matte kind of material. I love the feel of the lipstick tube

The tube has a long black cap which shuts pretty securely making the packaging fit for carrying around. This tube comes housed in a cardboard box, which bears the entire product-related information on it. The bottom of the lipstick bears a color-coded sticker indicating the shade name. The base of the lipstick has the brand name printed on it. As far as the packaging is concerned, I do not find any flaws.

“Rebel Chic” is a subtle plum red shade. This is a beautiful shade which will flatter almost every skin tone, especially medium to dusky skin tones. This is nice statement shade. It brightens up the complexion and does not really require heavy makeup to go along with it. This is a perfect shade for the upcoming festive season.

The lipstick does not contain any sheen or shimmer. It sets to a soft and velvety kind of finish initially and later on looks perfect matte on the lips. The formula is decently pigmented. One swipe gives semi-opaque coverage and covers the pigmentation of the lips upto a great extent. I apply two coats to get that perfect rich and even color on the lips. The color spreads evenly on the lips and never gets patchy. There is no significant smell in this lipstick.

The texture of the lipstick is nice. Most of the matte lipsticks are drying or they crack after some time, but the formula of this lipstick is somewhat smooth. It goes smoothly on the lips but it may drag a bit if the lips are extremely dry, so exfoliate and moisturize prior to application. It has the tendency to cling on to the dry patches of the lips (which is common with every matte lip color), but prepping the lips takes care of this issue.

This lipstick is lightweight and feels comfortable on the lips. It does not have a thick and heavy texture. The lipstick is moisturizing initially but my lips get dry at the end of the day. So, in my opinion, this lipstick is not really moisturizing. The color stays in place and does not budge even after meals. It does not settle into the fine lines of the lips.

The lipstick lasts for approximately 5-6 hours on my lips with a little fading. It survives light meals but does not survive a heavy meals and it fades from the center of the lips. The lipstick leaves a light stain behind, which can be taken off easily with a good makeup remover.
