Sephora Collection Shimmery Cute Pink Ultra Shine Lip Gloss Review

Hey everyone!

Today I am reviewing a product that has been in my collection for a long time and I haven’t really used it much. There are some things that just get stuck with you. I have used this lip gloss in a number of different ways. Read on to see if I’ve liked this or not. 😉

Sephora Collection Shimmery Cute Pink Ultra Shine Lip Gloss Review

Product Description:

What it is:
A maximum-shine, moisturizing gloss starring a new generation of “multi-holographic” shimmers, for perfect light reflection.

-Start by applying your gloss on the middle of your bottom lip and smooth outward.

My Experience with Sephora Collection Shimmery Cute Pink Ultra Shine Lip Gloss:

The lip gloss comes in a sleek tube with a black cap and transparent bottom. You can see the shade name and number at the bottom of the gloss. The plastic tube is sturdy, nothing special, just plain old lip gloss type. The applicator is unique, it’s an hourglass shaped doe foot. It picks up a lot of product, but as you will see that’s not always the best!

The lip gloss is quite sticky in my opinion and is a gooey texture, quite unlike the NYX Butter Glosses. When I apply it, it just sits on my lips and settles in the corners and I feel like it doesn’t look pretty at all. It spreads quite unevenly and because you pick up so much of the product in the wand, it looks super uneven on the lips. It takes me a while to fix this and I need to constantly rub my lips or touch up with a q-tip. It’s really hard to manage. It does not last long either. It disappears even with a sip of water. It stays around 1-2 hours maximum.

The shade is a milky white based pink. When I apply it with a heavy hand (apart from making me look like a lip gloss monster), it looks really unflattering on my skin tone. I don’t think this is a good shade for Indian skin tones, especially the warmer ones. This is a ‘Shimmery Cute Pink’, just not for us warm ladies. 🙂

I have tried to make this shade and texture work in several ways. I have used it with a light hand and it is hardly better than a lip balm. I have used it over a nude lip liner and it looks pretty wearable. I have used it with a heavy hand by itself and it looks disastrous! I have used it to top off some lipsticks and it just lightens the lips a bit and adds glossiness. But, even during all these experiments, it didn’t lose it stickiness. That is something I HATE in lipglosses!

In comparison, I have some NYX Butter Glosses, and this is how a gloss should be made. I think Sephora can take some lessons from this humble lip gloss.

Would I Repurchase Sephora Collection Shimmery Cute Pink Ultra Shine Lip Gloss?

Nope!

Would I Recommend Sephora Collection Shimmery Cute Pink Ultra Shine Lip Gloss?

Nope!

Verdict:

I really struggled with the pros this time, as you can tell. I did not like this gloss. Sure there might be better shades in the range, but do you really want to give $14 for this formula? You can easily get a better high end gloss for a few bucks more or a much better drugstore one for less than half the price.
