My parents and sister had visited us in Netherlands, and we toured loads of places. During our visit to Paris, we did some shopping which includes Sephora Kiss Me Lip Balms; I kept 2 (review here) and sacrificed 2 for my sister. During my visit to India, seeing the pathetic state of the lip balm in my sister’s hands, I thought I will write a review before the product dies in the monstrous hands of my sister. 😛 I have a wheatish tone and my sister has a fairer tone and she kept the pinks : Strawberry Fizz and Cotton Candy while I selected Soda Pop and Melon Sorbet.

My Experience with Sephora Collection Strawberry Fizz Kiss Me Lip Balm:
I always preferred lip balms over lipstick, but for some reasons I have become a fan of Lakme Absolute Lip Tint Matte lipsticks. However, when I was searching for a lip balm for a casual outing, I found these in my sister’s dressing table. What came as a shock to me was that the lipstick had melted; many times the cap had touched and cracked the balm, ripping out chunks from it. I felt bad seeing the condition, but these were my favorites when I bought them, so I cleaned them and when I used them, I went back to the day I first tried these balms. Same aroma and same flavor with the same tint! Then I realized why I gave these to my sister without a fight. 😛 😛
I had grabbed this product with no thoughts. The color was pretty and I loved the packaging. The color is very berry, reddish pink and has a fake strawberry scent/flavor. I eat up my lip balms, they taste delicious and I had to resist the urge of my tongue doing a sweep over my lips. However the scent fades away after sometime but the flavor remains if you do not lick it off. The staying power is much better than Soda Pop and Melon Sorbet.
The color did stay for more than 3 hours without any gloss application but it does melt from your lips in hot weather. It provides good moisturization and I can skip the lip balms when using this. The lip balm has a sheer tint and that is what puts me off. Even though I love the sheer effect, it appeared as if I had missed some part on my lips. So an applicator is always necessary when applying for even application. The dome shape is not good; as the product gets over, the application becomes very difficult.
So summing up,
Pros of Sephora Collection Strawberry Fizz Kiss Me Lip Balm:
• Provides good moisturization
• Works as a lipstick and a lip balm both
• Works well for formal outings as it doesn’t look OTT
• Good staying power of about 4 hours
• Cute packaging
Cons of Sephora Collection Strawberry Fizz Kiss Me Lip Balm:
• Doesn’t provide even coverage
• The product melts in hot weather
• An applicator is needed when the product starts decreasing

No, I gave the color up as I have dark lips and it doesn’t provide good coverage.
