Its been so long since I last wrote a review here. As you know I was on vacation last week and before that some vacation excitement. Overall it was a wonderful trip. I did not get to buy too much of stuff because we had very little time to shop, but I still managed to get my essentials. Anyways I am going to review a jet black affordable eyshadow which I bought last year from Sephora Singapore.
As you all know the hot and humid climate that we live in greatly messed up our makeups. I had the same problem. My kajal would smudge badly no matter what brand I used. I used to hate it because it made me look very tired. I was on training last year and it used to be a busy day. I never had any time to do touch ups or clear my face. Just then I read online that using a black eyeshadow really helps the kajal from smudging. I tried this using a matte black eyeshadow from my Coastal scents palette and it did help. But the real pain was to open 88 colour palette every time I used to wear kajal. Just then mom took us to Singapore for vacation and there I picked up this black eye shadow from Sephora.
What it is:
A new generation of highly pigmented, long-lasting, exclusive shadows that reinvent color intensity.
What it does:
Sephora Mono Eyeshadow has the perfect, high-payoff combination of brilliant color, an easy-blending formula, and endless versatility that will revolutionize your eye-makeup outlook and deliver show-stopping effects. This expert formula comes in three fabulous finishes: matte, glittering, and metallic shimmer. To create a scintillating look, prepare your lids to perfection with Sephora Collection’s “Tricks of the Trade” Eye Primer, a sheer eye primer, for smooth, lasting, crease-proof eyeshadow application.
Price:- I don’t really remember. It was last year. You can check it from Sephora’s online website
Ever since I bought this eye shadow, I used it almost everyday on top of my Maybelline gel liner. I loved the way it helped my liner stay longer. It did not smudge for 5 to 6 hours straight and even if it did, it was not as bad as before.
Also I think everyone needs a matte black to intensify that smokey eye look you may want to create. Strange part, I ve personally never tried a dark smokey eye look. The pigmentation on this eye shadow is perfect. It is very dark and can be used easily. I just have one more black which is from Urban decay Naked 2 palette and I think the pigmentation of both is equal. Because of this very eyeshadow I did not need to buy a Carbon from Mac. Just one is enough for me to use.
Lately I have stopped wearing kajals and hence my eye shadow is lying in a corner ignored, but that does not mean I don’t love it. I still love to use it if I need a smudge proof look. And all of you who like smokey eyes can easily use it too.
On the whole, I think it is a very affordable eye shadow and if you guys don’t want something as expensive as Carbon but still want the same kind of pigmentation, then do buy it.
