Sephora Light Veil Foundation – Medium Beige Review

by Madhuri B.

Hey guys,

Hope you are doing good. After Sephora opened up in India, it has become the makeup and beauty hotspot for enthusiasts like us where we keep on finding new stuff during every visit. So on a random stroll in Sephora, I saw this interesting looking foundation and decided to give it a try. It is supposed to be a light weight foundation that is meant for daily use and I was looking for something like this as the summers make my skin oily and dull. So yeah, I finally bought it and here I am reviewing it for you guys today. So keep reading to find out if it really works!

Sephora Light Veil Foundation

Description:

The product is described as ‘Long lasting. Air gliding texture that blends in flawlessly without any patches or blotches.’ It is dermatologically tested, non comodegenic and is Paraben and fragrance free.

Ingredients:

Sephora Light Veil Foundation

Price:

INR 1080 for 30 ml as on March 2015

Packaging:

The foundation comes in slim tube, which makes it very purse friendly. The tube is quite sturdy and classy looking. But I find that the product is a little too thick for the tube packaging; I mean that it is quite a task to get the foundation out of the tube as it requires a lot of pressure. I am afraid that the tube might tear very soon because of this.

My Experience with Sephora Light Veil Foundation – Medium Beige:

The thing that I like the most about the light veil foundation is its consistency. The foundation is more like a mousse and thus feels really light. But although the product claims to spread easily, it does not and you might need to use a little bit of water with your hands/brush/sponge to spread it evenly. The foundation goes on matte and feels very light on the skin which is the thing that I love about it the most. Another good thing about the foundation is that it is non-comodogenic and so you can wear it for long hours as well.

Sephora Light Veil Foundation

The foundation doesn’t keep the skin matte for too long and people who have combination/oily skin will find that their skin becomes oily after a 3-4 hours and the colour starts to fade. I for one have combination skin and this is what happened to me. The longevity can be increased by using a primer underneath but this makes no sense as this is a foundation that I would want to use when I do not really want to add anything bulky to my face.

Sephora Light Veil Foundation

It gives a light coverage as suggested by the name and if you have any imperfection that you would like to hide than this might not work for you. Also it is not a buildable foundation and if you try putting a lot of product or adding layers then the end result will look cakey. Also there aren’t a lot of colours available, just 3 to be precise and thus I couldn’t find a true match for my skin tone. But then the coverage is light so it doesn’t alter my complexion much.

Now finally all the pros and cons of Sephora Light Veil Foundation.

Pros of Sephora Light Veil Foundation – Medium Beige:

  • Lightweight, mousse like texture.
  • Non-comedogenic i.e. does not clog pores.
  • Paraben and fragrance free.
  • Light coverage, so perfect for days you don’t want to look too made up.

Cons of Sephora Light Veil Foundation – Medium Beige:

  • The product is not very easy to dispense from the tube.
  • Just 3 colours are available.
  • Lasts for just 3-4 hours on combination/oily skin types.
  • Doesn’t blend very well.
  • Doesn’t hide any imperfections.
  • Not very buildable.

IMBB Rating:

3/5

Would I repurchase Sephora Light Veil Foundation – Medium Beige?

No, although I do not hate the product but I don’t love it as much to repurchase it. I would like to try other BB creams and mousses available in the market as I don’t think this is going to be my HG daily wear foundation.

Final Verdict:

The foundation is a good one and if you are on a lookout for something like this you might want to give it a try but it is not worth switching products that already work for you. It does have a lot of interesting qualities and I do not regret buying it. But yeah I will be on the lookout for a better product.

    1. It’s a Daily wear foundation .. Just to even out the skin tone and provide some coverage .. But dark spots and scars may not be covered completely!
