Brushes and tools play a very important role in makeup. One may have the best makeup products, but without great tools one cannot do justice to them, but it is impossible to carry all our brushes while we are on the move. We can end up spoiling them and also they are very inconvenient to carry. This is where retractable brushes come handy. They are easy to carry, and there is little fear of ruining them. Keeping this is mind, I bought my sephora retractable brush. Read onto know if it was good buy or not.
I am a sucker for good packaging and this retractable brush comes in a beautiful sleek black tube. The quality of the packaging is really good and with retractable brushes you cannot have a bad packaging as you use and carry the brush almost every day and if the mechanism of retraction stops working, then it’s money down the drain. However, I do have one complaint. I wish they had made the tube just a little slimmer to make it suitable for smaller bags as well.
My Experience with Sephora Retractable Brush:
This brush is good. I have heard a lot about the great quality of Sephora brushes and this brush does truly prove all of them right. The hair of the brush is really soft and smooth. I didn’t feel any harshness or poking when I use it on my face. The brush picks up pigment really well and blends well too. I use it for applying my powder, blush, bronzer and even highlighter sometimes and this brush works well with each of them. Since it is quite a fluffy brush, I have learnt a trick to make it a multipurpose brush and not just for powders.
When I use it with powder, I open the entire brush, but when I use it with blush and bronzer, I just open it partially for a more concentrated application and then I blend it by again fully opening the brush. It works like a charm!
The mechanism is quite smooth and I have never faced any problems while opening or closing the brush. I have experienced problems with other retractable brushes, but never with this baby. The hair is also well aligned and there no odd strand or two sticking out. The size of the portion of the brush that you hold while using it (I don’t know what to call that, “stem” maybe) is also perfect and doesn’t feel too small in my hands. Besides, there is no shedding of hair from the brush which speaks volumes about the quality of the brush.
All in all, this brush is just perfect especially for when you are on the move. I always have it in my make-up pouch which reminds me that I have to take it out for a wash!
So, I will now quickly sum up the pros and cons:

Well, only if it ever gets ruined! The quality is amazing and if I take good care of this one, it will last me for years and by then who knows what innovation would have come out. But if not, I am definitely gonna repurchase it.
