Shahnaz Husain Beauty Balm Review

To begin with, no one from my family has ever tried Shahnaz Husain products and shockingly, there is not even one “aunty” who got the quintessential  Shahnaz Husain facial done at local parlours.  Personally, I never even looked at the products carrying the picture of a lady looking westward, but after reading positive reviews of Shahnaz Husain products on IMBB here , here, and here and then some other reviews, I realized that the brand does carry some good products, especially for “dry skin.”  I was a little sceptical about picking something for myself from this brand, I looked around and realized that my mom could do with another anti-ageing product.  She is using Olay Total Effects currently and there was no harm in giving her another one.  I bought two Shahnaz Husain products for my mom, one being this “Beauty Balm,” which is also an anti-ageing product.

Needless to say, I tried this on myself too, but I have realized the hard way that “I only need a good moisturizer” and not an anti-ageing cream right now, so no more experiments for me from now on since I have got Olay Moisturizer

My Take on Shahnaz Husain Beauty Balm:

First with the warning, please do not try it if you don’t need an anti-ageing formula yet.  I tried and got acne.  Anyway, it was for my mom and surprisingly she is quite happy with it, but when I had tried it on and went out, my face started sweating and became greasy quickly.  Coming to the packaging, the beauty balm comes in an attractive, sturdy heavy plastic tub.  The thick white cream smells herbal but not “nastily” herbal. :doctor:  Speaking for my mom, though it is heavy, it gets thoroughly absorbed into the skin.  It gives a dewy appearance to her face without making it look excessively greased.  Over a few days, it has definitely smoothed out a few lines on her face, but nothing miraculous.  Its a good day cream for women in their mid 30s and 40s who want “that” glow on their face.

This balm does not have any SPF in it, so additional sunscreen may be needed for protection from sun.  Also, the complete ingredients list is not mentioned.  This is the issue I have with herbal and ayurvedic products that they do not mention their complete list, which should be made mandatory.  I have no idea whether parabens are added, but I guess parabens are present because the shelf life of the product is 4 years!!!!

beauty balm

If you want to let your moms start their “tryst” with anti-ageing creams, this one is an “option, ” I am not saying “better” because if you look around, “Olay” is easily available everywhere.

Coming to the pros and cons of Shahnaz Husain Beauty Balm:

Pros of Shahnaz Husain Beauty Balm:

  • Thick cream apt for dry and mature skin.
  • Gives dry and mature skin a dewy look.
  • Does smooth out fine lines.
  • Does not smelly “nastily” herbal.
  • Price is pretty reasonable.
  • Anti-ageing option for women in their 30s and 40s.

Cons of Shahnaz Husain Beauty Balm:

  • Not good for “immature” skin.
  • Complete list of ingredients is not mentioned, I have an issue with that.

    1. that chocolate cream is very tempting Indrani…..but I am never gonna try it….I think its for very dry skin :worship:

  6. “lady looking westward”… 😆

  8. I dnt use shahnaz husain products just because of her huge picture on everything 😐 😐

But you are right ,it definitely has some good options for dry skin . My mom uses this beauty balm too ,it didnt do anything major for her either but it did make her skin ‘look’ good :dumb:

  9. how to decide if our skin needs anti ageing products or nt if u wnt get acne :stars:
Fr nw I think I just need a good moisturizer but not sure if I m missing out on sthng by nt using Anti ageing creams

    1. Vish….I have read many a times in newspapers and I think even Dr. Jamuna Pai had remarked that the correct age to start using anti-ageing stuff would be from the age of 25 O:) O:) O:)

  10. Shahnaz Hussain must be a narcissist..puts up her pic on every product :preen:
Any I was wondering wat would happen if we strt using anti ageing products from an early age say 20.. I kno d rite age is 25 but still u cant be careful wen it comes to ur skin.. :struggle: :struggle: :-/

    1. Leez, I think since everybody tells its 25, that would be the appropriate time to start using such stuff.

  11. Jomo how’s Aarohan now…hope he recovers completely soonest….. :teddy: :teddy:

those piccys are mwaaahhh mwaahhh…. hariyali hi haryali…. and the way u balanced that tub between the branches :hihi: :hihi:

    and lady looking westward :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

  12. Surprising to know that Daraavani Aunty has started selling her products at not-so-daraavani-price.. :specs: Loved how you made her sit between two branches under pedo ki chhaanv..

I have her Shamilk for Undereye circles…dunno how its working as I am using it on & off alongwith other products..!! Have started using Anti-aging products lately..but till date its all “Jab bhi koi anti-aging product dekhoon..mera dil deewaana bole Olay Olay..Olayyy” :pompom: My mom is big fan of Olay..as its working decently on her freckles..

    1. She looks like laheraaying her kaale-ghane-lambe baal under that chhaanv & @ to start singing..”Ye hai reshmi zulfo ka andhea naa ghabhraayieeee..Jahan tak mahek hai mere gesuon ki chale aayieee”

  13. even i had bad experience (got severe acne) with all the anti-ageing creams, i think Oily or combination skin doesnt require those creams until 30 (at least for me), even my skin need a good moisturizer as you said 🙂
“the picture of a lady looking westward…” :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: i didnt ve a single SH product :haanji: :haanji: :haanji:

  14. Shami…….yes, I think oily skin will just need a proper moisturizer until 30 mark…..and you don’t have a single product from SH….I want to say same pinch now :high5: :high5:

    1. if at all i buy then it would be Shatone – hair tonic, nupuriiiz reviewed na, that only 🙂 but that is also costly, i think its 500, i dont know what shanaz mam is thinking about her products :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

  15. he he Kimi :hihi: :hihi: she is the ultimate name in skin care and beauty in many small towns :hihi: Kimi….you fbed…me…..I sent you a message back…but after that no reply

  16. this looks good Jomo.. I have been wanting to get a good day cream as my TBS Vit C is not that great. but I am not sure if I shouls start using anti-ageing abhi se.. I mean I am just 31..

  17. Nice review Jomol… I really think all these “anti aging” creams are marketing gimmicks only! .. you just need to take care of your skin… drink water.. use a mild cleanser… use a good sun block and any good moisturizer will do.. also never sleep with ur makeup on! .. Good diet, good sleep and a little workout is all that you need. I have seen many makeup guru’s on youtube also suggest this.. besides I have a good example at home… My mom is nearing 60..touchwood her skin is 100 times better than mine in texture.. no wrinkles no pigmentations or fine line.. and all she does is just use milk cream 🙂

  18. jomol….. ur right some SH products r goood for dry skin, i find them ok ok nothing that i love or hate :victory2: :victory2: :victory2:
the pictures r sooo nice :woot: :woot:
