Shahnaz Husain Shaglow Review

Hi friends.

Hope you would have read about my debacle with SH’s Shaqueen. Shaglow was another moisturizer from SH, which I had wanted to try. The description of Shaglow in SH product catalogue immediately caught my eye. The product was mentioned as an intensive moisturizer, which sounded interesting. Further, it said it was for dry and dehydrated skin; which felt like it was just the right product that my skin needed. I was all set for Shaglow to wave it’s magic wand on my skin.

Packaging:

The packaging is very similar to Shaqueen cream. The container is a triangle shaped light green tub. It also has a small peel off lid under the cap to avoid any spilling. The cream has a mild rose fragrance, which fades away soon after application. The cream has a thicker texture in comparison to Shaqueen cream. The cream visually looks very appealing with it’s beautiful pink color, like a strawberry ice-cream.

Price:

40 g. of the cream is priced at Rs.580.

My Experience with Shahnaz Husain Shaglow:

The cream is so thick that it is not easy to apply. The only way that I have found to blend this cream easily is to put tiny little dots of the cream all over my face. And then try to blend them in to the skin.

The cream does not completely disappear from the facial skin. It sits on the skin like an oily layer. I have dry skin, so I generally do not mind a light layer on my skin. But, having this cream on my face makes me feel that my skin is not able to breathe at all. When I apply this cream it feels like I have applied rose scented Vaseline on my face.

I do not find this cream convenient to use during the daytime. I mostly end up wiping it off with a tissue paper as it gives my face a very greasy look. I cannot use this cream layered on top of any serum as it makes my face very sticky. As per its claim of being very intensive moisturizer, I have not found it beneficial for my dry skin, except during extreme cold weather. I am using it only in my night time routine during winters.

Shahnaz Husain Shaglow

Pros of Shahnaz Husain Shaglow:

  • Cream would be suitable only for dry skin during winters.
  • Has pleasant rose fragrance, which is mild and fades away very soon.
  • Packaging is sturdy.

Cons of Shahnaz Husain Shaglow:

  • Not easy to blend this cream as it is very thick in texture.
  • The cream makes the face look greasy.
  • Pricey.
  • Does not contain SPF.
  • Not suitable if you have an oily or normal skin tone.
  • Does not provide hydration benefits, instead sits on the face more like an oily layer.
  • Does not blend well if used with serum.

Would I repurchase Shahnaz Husain Shaglow?

No, I would not buy this product. I might end up using this cream only as a neck cream or hand cream, rather than facial cream.

  1. go for olay natural white. It`s tonnes better. The desi creams often have this problem – they have great natural ingredients mixed in a very pasty , sticky non absorbing base :/
