Shahnaz Husain Shalash Plus Eye Beauty Mascara Review

How is spring/summer treating you all? Summer is full of bright colors. But I know we don’t like the heat and tanning one bit. Huuh. Anyway, today I am going to review a product which is useful to enhance our eye’s beauty.

Being an eye makeup freak, I keep trying different eye makeup products. Most of them are reviewed in our IMBB.  Last time, when I had been out for a shopping haul, this beauty caught my eyes. This is one of the products from a famous brand of the prominent Indian female entrepreneur, ‘Shahnaz Husain’. I have read in one of the posts of IMBB, that even late Princess Diana used to use eye products from this brand!!

The product which I am going to review is Shahnaz Husain Shalash Plus Eye Beauty Mascara. Let’s see whether it worked for me or not.

A water based mascara for enhancing eyelash beauty, making the lashes appear longer, thicker and more exotic. Has a built-in natural moisturizing effect. Dries fast and reduces smudging. Made from completely safe, natural ingredients.

My Experience with Shahnaz Husain Shalash Plus Eye Beauty Mascara :

I have been looking for a good mascara since quite sometime.I have used mascaras from the brands ‘Maybelline’ and ‘Lakme’; but I had heard a lot about this particular brand so I wished to give it a try. The herbal product concept never fails to attract me. So one fine day, I ended up ordering the mascara.
The packing is good. The mascara comes in a black plastic tube with a golden colored cap and name imprinted in golden . These color contrasts give it a royal look. 😉 It has got a mild fragrance. This fragrance reminds me of ‘lal gandh’ (a liquid bindi which was famous during my childhood days) The wand is thick and kind of old fashioned(compared to Lakme’s wand, it seems thick.) This tiny tube  is definitely travel-friendly. The mascara wand is thick which makes it not so comfortable for the application to lower lashes. Anyway, the good news is that I have read that application to lower lashes makes us look older. I don’t know to what extent that holds true.

Pigmentation is quite good. Texture is kind of creamy. The moment I applied it to my lashes, I felt the cooling effect, which I had never felt out of any other mascaras. This product claims that it dries really fast, which makes me conscious to not keep the tube open while application 😀 But its not waterproof’.!! I had applied it before leaving for office, but may be due to the hot sun outside, it had smudged soon enough.  I reapplied it after cleaning my ‘Panda eyes’ in office. It didn’t smudge in the AC environment.  Hence proved, it works better in absence of hot weather / indoors. 😛 It does give a moisturizing and cooling effect. As it claims, it does make eye lashes appear longer which almost every mascara does 😀 Let me sum up in terms of pros and cons now.

• Enhances the beauty of eye lashes.
• Travel-friendly.

Cons of Shahnaz Husain Shalash Plus Eye Beauty Mascara :

• Wand is huge which makes lower lash mascara application tedious.
• Unfortunately, it smudges.
• Some might find it expensive with respect to the quantity.
• Not waterproof
