Today I am going to review an under-eye cream: Shahnaz Husain – Shasmooth Almond Under Eye Cream. I bought this cream 6 months back and I noticed it hasn’t been reviewed here so I thought I will do it :).
IMBB has a lot of articles on under eye dark circles and under eye puffiness. One thing I noticed common in the most of the homemade cures in the net for under eye dark circles and puffiness is almond. Almond helps to remove dark circles as it is a mild natural bleach, it is also an excellent skin food.
I don’t have prominent dark circles but I have under eye puffiness. I bought the Shasmooth cream to improve the way my eyes look. Let’s see how it fared.
Reduce dark circles and wrinkles.
An intensive treatment for the delicate skin around eyes, it contains pure almond extract, in combination with selected organic ingredients .Specially designed to reduce dark circles and puffiness, it revitalizes and nourishes the skin powerfully. Softens fine lines and wrinkles, making the skin smooth and youthful.

My take on Shahnaz Husain – Shasmooth Almond Under Eye Cream:
My mom is a big fan of Shahnaz Hussain products, but somehow I never found them working for me. She had asked me to get her the Oxygen mask from Shahnaz when I spotted this cream at the counter. It said almond as its key ingredient and claimed to work on puffiness so I thought to give it a try.
The cream comes in a very beautiful packaging-Bluish green glass jar. But it’s the sturdy, heavy glass jar that doesn’t make it travel friendly. You need to dip your fingers in the tub to get the product out. The texture of the cream is very thick, it’s a white colored cream with a mild smell of almonds. Once you apply it, it transforms into a very oily greasy film and skin looks shiny as if you have applied oil. I would have liked my under I cream to get absorbed into the area. They have mentioned it needs to be removed with moist cotton after 15 minutes, I tend to skip this sometimes and just splash water on my face and wipe my face with a towel.
The under eye cream has made my under eye area look better and it does the moisturization part really well. But nothing dramatic. It is a heavy cream, so I sometimes use it for my lips and other rough skin areas also. I don’t have dark circles so I can’t comment on that part. It softens the under eye area and makes it look healthier, but it hasn’t reduced my puffiness much. Maybe it’s because of my allergic tendencies or I should have used the product more religiously. I had stopped using the cream from last month and now when I opened the bottle I can see oil over the cream which has got separated from it.
As you can see from my review I have mixed feelings for this product. I have earlier used Biotique under eye cream which highly disappointed me; this has at least scored some brownie points. I think I should now experiment with under eye gels.
Pros of Shahnaz Husain – Shasmooth Almond Under Eye Cream:
1. Attractive heavy packing, both a pro an a con.
2. Smooth texture, easy to apply.
3. Melts into the skin fast.
4. It doesn’t irritate the under eye area after application.
5. Makes the under eye area healthier with use.
6. Mild smell.
Cons of Shahnaz Husain – Shasmooth Almond Under Eye Cream:
1. Oily feel after application. I would have preferred it gets absorbed into the skin.
2. On the expensive side, as with almost all Shahnaz products.
3. Smell might be an issue for highly sensitive noses.
4. Does nothing much for puffiness.
Would I recommend Shahnaz Husain – Shasmooth Almond Under Eye Cream?
I would recommend for dry skin beauties and I think it would work for dark circles as it does make the under eye area look healthier and fresh. I am going to purchase a gel based one next. Any recommendations ladies?
3.5/5 (didn’t work as expected on my puffy eyes)
