“Omne Trium Perfectum” – Latin phrase which means set of three is perfect. Though it does not necessarily pertain to my organizational skills, but I definitely apply this rule in my beauty adventure. So even after the debacle of Shaglow and Shaqueen, here is my attempt number “Tres” with SH’s Shataj Plus Moisturizing Day Cream. Shahnaz Husain Shataj Plus Moisturizing Day Cream.
The cream comes in a light green tub which is triangle shaped. The founder’s picture is on the tub. The fragrance of the cream is pleasant and floral. The fragrance does not stay for too long on the skin after application. The cream is very lightweight and has a whipped cream texture. It also has a glossy finish to it.
40 gm of the cream was priced at Rs. 665.
My Experience with Shahnaz Husain Shataj Plus Moisturising Day Cream:
While initially applying the cream, it is not easy to blend it into the skin. It leaves white marks on the face if not blended evenly and thoroughly. Once the entire cream gets absorbed, my facial skin continues to feel dry and in need of moisturization. Even when I layer the cream on top of serum, the cream gives a matte effect on the skin instead of providing hydration.
I have dry skin and I did not find the cream to be very effective. Hence currently while using this cream, I usually add a few drops of liquid moisturizer, like Khadi’s Avocado and Peach Moisturizer and blend it with the cream before applying on my face.
It contains blends of rose water, grapefruit, apricot oil, shea butter, aloe vera juice, and vitamin E to provide extensive moisturization. However, I did not notice any improvement in my skin texture. The product claims to improve skin tone by toning the pores giving smoothness to the face. The cream would be more suitable for an oily skin type or normal skin type.
This cream has been very similar to SH’s Shaqueen in multiple ways. The texture, fragrance and also the way it performed on my skin. I am currently using this moisturizer more as my hand cream rather than my face cream. Even with all the great ingredients, my skin does not feel enough hydration and does not get much benefits from this product. It has not been a helpful product for my skin during the winters.
Pros of Shahnaz Husain Shataj Plus Moisturising Day Cream:
- The cream caters more towards oily or normal skin as it provides very minimal hydration.
- Fragrance is pleasant and floral and does not stay for long after application.
- More suitable as day cream.
- Contains blends of Rose water, Grapefruit, Apricot oil, Shea butter, Aloe Vera juice and Vitamin E.
Cons of Shahnaz Husain Shataj Plus Moisturising Day Cream:
- Difficult to blend on the skin.
- It may leave white marks on the face when not blended completely and evenly.
- Not suitable for dry skin as it does not provide decent hydration.
- Does not contain sunscreen.
- Did not observe any positive effect on skin texture and tone.
- Not suitable during extreme weather conditions.
- Had to layer it with other moisturizers for hydration for dry skin type.
Would I Repurchase Shahnaz Husain Shataj Plus Moisturising Day Cream?
No, I would not buy this product. I would not recommend this product unless you have very oily skin and need very minimal hydration. So long, SH products!! I think me and you……part our ways 😛
