Ritika Asks:

A good shampoo for damaged hair??

My hair use to be black, shiny and straight at some point of time. But due to heavy chemicals in the hair products, pollution and excessive use of straightners my hairs have become very brittle and damaged.the
hair at tips is even more awful πŸ™
I know a good diet is also required for healthy hair, but staying away from home it becomes a little difficult to maintain a good diet no matter how much I try.

So I really need your help in suggesting me a good shampoo and conditioner which can actually repair my damaged hairs and are a little less on chemicals =)

  1. Hey πŸ™‚

I have tried egg too, though it did make my hairs look shinier and increased the dryness :struggle: :struggle: :struggle:
and as for henna,i cant stand the smell at all

And I currently have three shampoos and conditioners which I am trying to finish and find good new ones
I have dove dry therepy, loreal mirror shine and head & shoulders (which I use once or twice a month whenever I notice a little dandruff ) O:) O:) O:) O:)

    2. same here loreal total repair gav me massive hairfall from past 1 yr i am doing numerous things to stop hairfall but of no use… :headbang:

  2. Hey Ritika….
u can try out the Matrix Biolage hair products…..! they are incredibly awesome! i faced the same problem…..but now after using this product my hair feels so soft n relaxed! I always ask everyone to give it a try and till now it hasn’t let anyone down….

    1. hey priyanka ,my friend has used matrix and it caused a lot of hairfall so I am a little skeptical about them :struggle: :struggle: :struggle: :struggle: :struggle:
But since you are recommending ,may be i’ll give them a try πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

    1. I was actually thinking about that but is the range really good ??
These body shop people dont make small bottle and if the shampoo didnt suit me,i would be left with yet another filled shampoo bottle which would be lying in my cupcoard for months :struggle: :struggle:

      1. ritika they have minis…however its rwo mini shamppos and two mini conditoners..awith a detangling comb for 1095…which is at 50% off…..grab it fast!!

  3. hey ritika…..u cn try d schwarzkopf bonacure smooth control range,it helps in makin hair smooth n controls frizz………..since u hv damaged hair,u cn also take a biotin supplement for sometime 2 help ur hair regain its strength…………

  4. Hi Ritika….Even I had a similar problem….so now I take extreme care of my hair….though I still have hairfall it has reduced considerably. But my hair does not look damaged and dull anymore.
I never shampoo without oiling….never work for dry hair. I mix warm almond oil/olive oil and leave it overnight.
I pamper my hair with hair masks either homemade..or sometimes I use biotique musk root hair mask. (Be search for reviews on this…cause biotique products do not suit everyone. :(( )
I have been using Fabindia’s avocado shampoo and aloe vera protein conditioner and it works great for me.
Whenever you wash your hair, keep the shampoo routine quick and short…else it would rob your hair of all the moisture. Always apply conditioner to the tips of your hair and work it to the roots. do not apply it on the scalp.
Last but not he least drink loads of water.

    Hope this helps. :))

  5. ooopps i totally understand how u feel…. 😐 I too exactly had the same problems…. After experimenting with all possible shampoos and conditioners, I have settled in for Pantene… First get the split ends removed… That makes work half easier…. Oil twice a week….Leave it overnight…. O:) (Works wonders) I use Pantene Silk and Smooth(Greeen) and Garnier Conditioner(For dry, frizzy hair). It gave me awesome results in 6 7 washes… May be you should try! Many of my friends with amazing hair swear by Pantene! :rose: Good luck! O:) O:) 8)

  6. Hi Ritika
See what i have noticed up till now is that it really doesn’t matter what shampoo you use but the conditioner you use plays a big big difference!!
The Condition you’re referring is what every other person living in the city faces…!
What i suggest is that you start using intensive conditioning masks for every wash untill the condition is restored… Wella makes the best masks in the world…. it leaves your hair soft and shiny and no oiliness!
Try Wella system professional 3.1 intensive conditioner it is available on major salons only….bit on the pricey side but totally worth it and last a long long time!!
Regarding less chemicals is concerned u can try Body Shop Rainforest Moisture, but i wish it works as incredible as it smells. It made my hair dry. πŸ™ Plus its as expensive as Wella!
Try it you’ll never regret it!

  7. ritika…. loreals absolute repair works wonders on damaged hair… get thr shampoo, and also use thr hair mask… u ll see d results youself πŸ™‚ :victory2: :victory2: :victory2:

  8. You should really try a yogurt mask before you shampoo your hair. Just take 2tbs of natural yogurt and apply it right on your scalp, cover your hair with a shower cap because it tends to get runny and let it be for about 15 mins. before washing your hair. It makes your hair silky soft and provide the necessary moisture and nutrients for the roots.
Also, I suggest don’t switch too much between shampoos for regular use.

    Hope it helps πŸ™‚

  9. I swear by the Himalaya shampoo and conditioner! I’ve made a lot of my friends switch from Dove, Garnier, Loreal to Himalaya but I have read that the products don’t suit everyone so I’m not too sure. I really like Himalaya shampoos because they’re really gentle and I wash my hair often so despite that, my hair stays quite soft and less damaged than before.

  10. Ritika,I’m not going to suggest any product, all I can say is just try to avoid stress! I read somewhere here on IMBB you were preparing for exams, so sometimes stress leads to hairfall too. I remember last week I noticed less hair fall & then this week I was pissed off with something & took lot of stress & then this week there is huge hair fall πŸ™

  11. My vote is for Wella hydrate shampoo.
it is very mild, cleans well smoothens hair and gives a great shine
Pro: everything we expect from a shampoo
    Con: Rs 800 for 200 ml πŸ™

  12. Hi ritika,
    Herbal essences-hello hydration
    Herbal essence-breaks over
    shampoo and conditioner are amazing!!!
    They’re cheap and GREAT!!
    You should also try
Bedhead dumb blonde conditioner- works really well for damaged hair!

  13. mash avocado with some olive oil n egg yolks..apply on hair n rinse off after half n hr………it definitely helped me A LOT!
n as far as shampoo n conditioner is concerned, try the loreal professional range absolute repair shampoo, conditioner n hair mask…..
also, if u can, include eggs in your diet!

  14. for me the loreal total repair 5 worked…..when first time i used it was not too good but then i used it with it’s masque ….have u used it masque also ??? :sidefrown: :sidefrown: i think it work with it’s complete kit!

  15. i use the himalaya shampoo, because i find it gentle enough for my scalp, and invest in a professional range for hair masques and conditioners. i particularly love loreal absolut repair. it has minimised flyaways and dry rough hair problem for me.
