Shiseido Pureness Pore MinimizingCooling Essence

My take on Shiseido Pureness Pore Minimizing Cooling Essence:

When you have combination to oily acne prone skin; products which state “ non-comodogenic or oil free or anti blemish or pore minimising” definitely attract you and that’s how I ended up buying this product along with their Purifying mask (which is my absolute favourite.) I have a few nasty, unsightly pores around my nose, below the under eye area, so I am always on a lookout for products that claim to minimize pores. This essence is from Shiseido’s Pureness range which is specifically formulated for combination-oily skin.

The essence is a lightweight, silky, somewhat creamy formula (not moisturizing though) which seeps into the skin in no time. The essence is mild enough for my sensitive skin and does not sting at all. It has a faint, pleasant fragrance, nothing too strong or bothersome nor does it stay for long.

On immediate application, it gives you a nice, calming, cooling effect which lasts for about a minute. It makes my skin look nice, like really nice, healthy and I love the way it feels on my skin. On my good skin days I can just wear this, top it with a loose powder and I am all sorted (especially during monsoons when I don’t want to pile on a lot of products on my face). The essence manages to mattify the skin really well and does make my pores look a lot better. Infact I can skip my primer if I wear this under makeup.

Now coming to “major Point”, ie. whether it works on minimising pores or not, Since it is primarily a skin care product and it is important that it should deliver results in the long run, with continued usage (as per its claims). I used the essence after cleansing and avoided any moisturiser (for my night time skin routine) for almost a month, to see its effects on my pore size. First thing in the morning I would notice that it made my skin look a lot healthier, clear and smooth. The large pores did reduce and looked far better than what they used to be, but the downside is that as soon as I discontinued using the essence, they were back to their original form/size. So, I guess you have to keep on using this product to deal with large pores.

Shiseido Pureness Pore Minimizing Cooling Essence

Overall, I like this essence a lot as it makes my skin appear a lot better than it is and I love how it feels on the skin, so I would definitely not consider it a dud, it has never harmed/irritated my skin in any way.If you have oily skin , this would be a great product to try. I am just on the verge of finishing up this tube and I do intend to repurchase. Normal or dry skinned beauties may find it a little drying on the skin as it does not moisturise much, so you can sample it before buying a full sized one.

Coming to pores, I think I have made peace with them and I try not to go too close to the mirror and scrutiny/scan my skin. I discussed about pores with my derma and told him I want to get rid of them completely. He laughed at this and said why do you want to shut them down, your skin breaths through the pores. I was out of words .Full stop!

Pros of Shiseido Pureness Pore Minimizing Cooling Essence:

• Lightweight formula, sinks into the skin quickly
• Has a calming/cooling effect on the skin
• Makes my skin appear healthy and smooth
• Mattifys the skin well
• Improves the appearance of pores with continued usage.
• Mild on my sensitive skin, Does sting/irritate it
• Pleasant fragrance
• You just need a little amount of essence for each time, so even the 30 ML tube goes a long way!

Cons of Shiseido Pureness Pore Minimizing Cooling Essence

• Pores get back to original size once you discontinue using it
