Shiseido Ultimate Cleansing Oil for Face/Body Review

Hi Beauties,

I have come today with the second review in my list of cleansers reviews.  It is a face cleanser. It belongs to the category of cleansing oils which have become quite popular now-a-days. Cleansing oils really help in cleansing of skin without drying it out. They are excellent for make-up removal too. Last winter, my face had a really bad time with dryness and itchiness. None of my serums/moisturisers/night creams were working. I realised, part of the problem was due to my leftover makeup, mainly my water proof sunscreen. My mom brought this and another cleanser for me from UK. I have used this product and I must say that this is the best cleansing oil I have used till date.

Ingredients:

Mineral Oil, Cetyl Octanoate, PEG-10 Isostearate, Cyclomethicone, PEG-12 Diisostearate, Water, PEG-8 Diisostearate, Phenyl Trimethicone, Isostearic Acid, Alcohol Denat., Tocopherol, Fragrance

My experience with Shiseido Ultimate Cleansing Oil for Face/Body:

This cleansing oil comes in a white color plastic bottle. The bottle has a spout for pumping out the product. The spout can be easily positioned in open and close position, hence it is extremely good for travel. 1-2 pumps off the spout are enough for the entire face and neck area. I usually use this cleansing oil as step 1 of my double cleansing regime. I don’t use it for my body though. The bottle contains 150ml of product.
The cleansing oil is transparent, very light textured, runny in consistence and has a mild floral fragrance. Although I don’t like my skincare products to have any fragrance, the fragrance does go away on rinsing the face. I apply it on my dry skin and rub it for 10-15 seconds. As if by magic, my makeup, even waterproof ones completely dissolve underneath it. I do not have to rub it hard to make it work. It takes the shortest amount of time and almost no pressure to remove make-up from my face. Then I rub my face with just a few drops of water which turns it milky after which I rub it off.

It leaves a very clean, glowing, soft and hydrated skin on my face. It removes all traces of makeup and sunscreen from my face. I absolutely love it for my eye makeup since it does not irritate my eyes and I can gently rub my eyes to remove all makeup. No hard scrubbing is needed. As a habit, I normally double cleanse my face with another cleanser, but it is not required. At the end, when I wipe my face with an alcohol-free toner, my cotton pad comes off absolutely clean.

This is a very good cleanser for daily use as well as for removing makeup. I am absolutely in love with it now-a-days. It has not irritated or broken out my skin at all. Even with the summers coming in and a humid climate, it does not leave my skin oily or sticky at all. I am still left with 3/4th of the product after 2 months of daily use. This product has definitely changed my skin for the better.

  1. Sounds like a fab product Arpita! I have been looking for a replacement of my Shu uemura cleansing oil – lack of availability in India- but not happy with the ingredient list on this one…. Mineral oils break me out!
