Shopping and Bargaining Tips for Street Shopping!

Shopping! Yes, the word itself increases my adrenaline……and I am a self-confessed shopaholic. As my personal experience goes I like branded goods but then shopping from malls is no fun for me. Whenever you go to a mall a sales executive with a plastic smile will assist you and then help you spend moolahs for it.

It’s like you go with bags full of money to buy something that comes in a bag smaller than your pocket but I would love to go with pocket full of money and come back with bags full of stuff I need (sometimes , also with the things I don’t need)

I love street shopping especially in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangkok, Goa and the list goes on…. Inexpensive things are not always good but at times good things can be inexpensive. Street shopping also gives you the chance of feeling super satisfied by bargaining and getting a good deal. But, for few bargaining seems to be more of a pain than a gain.

So, I’ll share my secret weapons to win this bargain war………

• Even after seeing the piece you feel “THIS IS IT.” Never, NEVER show your desperation to the seller.

• As, a thumb rule always start your bargain with 1/3 of the price the seller is quoting.

• Take my word; don’t take your husband for street shopping. To save himself from going mad he will easily give in to the seller’s price.

• If you are buying from a place where there are number of sellers selling the same product, check the price from some sellers so that you have a fair idea and then return back to the original shop for bargaining.

• Regular customer: “kya bhaiya, regular customer se bhi aap itna bargain karenge kya???” Talk to him as if you know the shop from years.
Caution:- Keep your eyes open .Don’t try it if the shop looks new.

• Don’t test the patience of the seller :-Think calmly then state your price and stick by it, because if seller agrees to your price and then you try changing it. It can be hazardous to your health and self-esteem (don’t ask why)

• As you head towards a new shop always compare the price of the things you have already purchased from earlier shops. This will give you a fair idea of the pricing in this shop.
bulk shopping
Bulk shopping:- Instead of buying single product from different shops, do bulk shopping from single shop. As the weight of your bag increases rate of discount also increases.

Pack and bargain:- bargain with the seller and tell him to pack your stuff then hand him the money (the exact amount, don’t think of getting back the change) and then say “ek dum sahi hai bhaiya.“ If he argues more give him a 10 or 20 rupees more and then just move.

Caution:- Don’t do it if you feel the shopkeeper is going to shout chor chor!!!!!!! Lolzzzzz

Last trick: This trick does work many a times. If you feel price is too exorbitant just act to leave the shop. Shopkeeper will surely call you back to bargain.
