My Experience with Sigma Beauty Standout Eyes Gel Liner Standout Peacock:
I love using colored eyeliners but most of the colored eyeliners that I own are either in pencil form or liquid liners. So, I was so keen to try a colored gel liner. This eyeliner from Sigma comes in a small transparent pot. There is a label at the base of the pot which bears the shade name.
The pot closes with a black plastic screw on cap, which has the brand’s tagline printed on it. This small eyeliner pot comes housed in a white cardboard box. There is no eyeliner brush provided with this packaging. Overall, the packaging is fine and I could not find any flaws with it.
This range of gel liners come with a nice selection of colors. Since, I love blue eyeliner so much, I opted for the shade “Standout Peacock.” The shade is a gorgeous teal blue kind of a shade. I am in love with the color of this eyeliner. It is absolutely matte and there is no sheen or shimmer in this liner. The color is vibrant and looks lovely on the eyes. The shade is definitely unique and it is a great choice for those who prefer wearing colored eyeliners. The eyeliner is richly pigmented, one may achieve a super opaque finish with just two swipes.
The texture of this eyeliner has disappointed me so much. I expected it to be super creamy and smooth in texture. I thought that the liner would have a slippery gel-like texture but it is tad bit dry. Unfortunately, the pot that I received has kind of dried out already and hence it is very difficult to build up the color with it. I had to dig into the pot till the base to apply the eyeliner on my eyes.
The topmost layer of the eyeliner is very dry. Also, it sets very quickly and hence, I have to be very quick while applying because it sets within seconds. And once it sets, a second layer on top of the first layer starts to peel off and hence it gets really difficult to build the the color on my eyes. It crumbles upon layering. My eyes are pretty sensitive and watery, but this formula is safe on my sensitive eyes. It does not cause eye allergies even when I used it on my waterline.
Lasting power is around 5-6 hours on my eyes with a little smudging from the corners. “Standout Peacock” is waterproof but not totally smudge proof, it smudges easily in humid weather. This range from Sigma Beauty has a great shade collection but the texture of this eyeliner highly disappointed me.
