It’s summer time and while you all feel lazy and bored at home, go ahead with some beauty treatment for yourself and yes, you need not throw in lot of bucks for that, go in your kitchen and find the right mask for yourself. Oily skin ,acne prone, dry or super dry, try these out.
Oatmeal and Yogurt Face Mask
This face mask is suitable for all skin types and is super simple to prepare. It will cleanse and rejuvenate your skin.
• 1 tbsp oatmeal, finely ground
• 1 tbsp yogurt
• (A few drops of honey)
• You can also add a few drops of almond oil.
Very simple to make. Make sure the oats are ground or crushed a little bit. Otherwise, they will feel coarse on your face. Mix the wet ingredients,i.e., yogurt, oil and honey (preferably warmed so that it is runny) together in bowl.
Add the oats slowly and whip the whole thing together.
Apply and leave on for 10 minutes or just take a nap! Wash and wipe with a soft cloth, don’t use soap. It might feel a bit greasy for a while.
Coffee and Cocoa Facial Mask For All Skin Types:
I call this the “yummy” mask! Because that’s how it smells, who doesn’t love coffee and chocolate? Get hold of cocoa powder (unsweetened) and some ground coffee beans or even instant coffee powder will do. This forms the base of the mask. You can alternate it with many ingredients depending on whether your skin is dry or oily. You can get creative by adding essential oils or almond oil, olive oil. The choice is yours.
• 2 Tbsp. finely ground coffee beans.
• 2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder.
• 4 Tbsp. dairy product. That is yogurt or milk cream. If you can get coconut milk, nothing like it!
• 2 Tbsp. honey (for dry skin) or lemon juice (for oily skin).
Mix coffee and cocoa powder in a bowl. I like to add some warm honey as it is runny and acts as a good binder and don’t even get me started on its goodness. You can add your milk cream or yogurt now till it forms a nice paste. It shouldn’t be too thick or too runny because we are making a mask here, so we want it to sit on the face well. Apply and leave to dry. While washing, you can scrub it well. In case, you have acne or sensitive skin, make sure you are not harsh as you would not want to scratch your face out with the coffee beans.
You can store the leftover paste in the refrigerator for several days.
Banana Mask for Oily Skin:
(Thanks to mango season, my house is loaded with mangoes all over. I didn’t make a banana mask, but it is just as easy). Please follow the recipe.
• 1 ripe banana, we are using ripe one – easy to mash.
• 1 tbsp honey and lemon.
Mix the banana and honey together. Add a few drops of lemon. Apply to face for 15 minutes and wash off.
Homemade Aspirin Mask
Helps Heal Acne, Pimples, Rashes (tried and tested).
• 1-3 aspirins.
• A spoon to crush.
• Shallow dish.
• Warm honey (runny honey), moisturizer (optional) almond, olive or coconut oil.
• Few drops of lemon.
• Crush the aspirin into small pieces in a shallow dish with the help of a spoon.
• Add warm honey, moisturizer or a bit of oil (almond, olive or coconut works). Stir well.
• Add a few drops of lemon or water to make a paste.
• I would suggest using this as a spot treatment for acne but can also be applied as mask, just that you will need at least 4-5 tablets.
