Simple Lower Heavy Eye Makeup Tutorial

Simple Lower Heavy Eye Makeup Tutorial

Hello ladies!

It has been seriously very long, over 2 months now since I have been here. I hope you all are doing fantastic! It was just a very hectic work schedule and with summer, I fall ill a lot with severe heat strokes, so all I was doing was crashing on my bed when I reached home! So to ease back into this, I thought I will share with you a very easy look I have been wearing a lot lately. With the melting heat, I usually keep my makeup very light and this works perfectly on such hot days.  The inspiration for this look came from the wonderful Motives palette. I received this palette in the April Vellvette Box of course and have been experimenting with it a lot and wanted to share my favourite look inspired by this pretty palette. It uses colors simple enough so even if one doesn’t have the exact palette, I am sure it can still be recreated. It can be done in a few simple steps.

Step-By-Step Tutorial:

Step 1: I first started out by applying a touch of concealer and powder to prep my eyes.

Step 2: I then used the soft, brownish-orange color in the Motives palette all over my upper eye lid, also applying it over the crease and above.

Step 3: I then applied some kajal very generously.

Step 4: On the angeld brush I took the green color from the palette & applied it on the lower lash line, almost 1/3rd of the way out.

Step 5: Then with the same brush, I took the blue color and applied it very thickly over the lower lash line blending it well with the green color.

Step 6: With the same blue, I then created a wing by extending the lower lash line into a fine point and joined it a little to the upper lash line.

Step 7: I then applied black liquid eyeliner, very thinly, on the upper lash line to join with the blue wing created previously.

Step 8: This is optional; I wanted to intensify the blue on the lower lash line, so I mixed in a bit of clear gloss from the same palette with the blue color and applied it over the previously placed blue color. I then patted on more dry blue color over the gloss to make sure it was set. Gloss so near the eye may not suit everyone. So please be cautious, I for one, have tried it previously a lot of times and as long as it is kept away from the actual eye it has no adverse effect. But if you have any doubts then you can even use just water, or any other mixing medium to intensify the color.

Step 9: I then darkened my brows slightly, applied a brow bone highlight color and cleaned up around the eye with concealer.

And this is the finished look. The reason such a look is good for me in summers is because the lower lash line has a very thick line of color and is patted down well with powder colors, so if your makeup smudges usually with heat, the thick liner will camouflage it sort of and the upper lid is very clean and neutral, so it just looks very refreshing. Pop on a summer bright lip color and you are good to go!
I hope you all liked it. Missed you all a lot and it feels great to be writing again! I’m actually writing this after 12 o clock on Jomol’s birthday so HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our dearest, sweetest, funniest, most encouraging Jomol!! *puchhi*
