Sisley Express Flower Gel Mask Review

SISLEY EXPRESS FLOWER GEL MASK

Hi Beauties,

I am a sucker for masks. Since a long time, when I did not even know the true significance of masks (I used to apply it only to become fairer), I have been applying it. During my hostel life, it had almost become a ritual to apply face masks, do manicure, pedicure, head massage and all other beauty stuff on Sundays. All the girls used to help each other in doing these things. Now, I don’t get the time or inclination of doing this every Sunday. Instead, CTM has become my Holy Grail, and masks are something which I apply once or twice a week whenever I get the time.

I first came to know about this mask (and this brand) when I watched a Lisa Eldridge video; and I got hooked. You see, my main gripe about masks were mainly the color (during which you cannot even go out of the room without scaring someone), and the mess it created on washing off. I wanted to get this mask since this one was transparent; but the price!!!!!! I still shudder when I think about it (I try not to think about it at all). But just like “The Golden Deer”, I wanted to have it. So after much deliberation, I decided to throw caution to the winds and buy it. And I did.

My experience Sisley Express Flower Gel Mask :

I still cannot believe I spent so much on a face mask!!!!
The product comes packed in a white box. Inside, there is a blue color tube containing the product. The mouth of the tube is extremely well sealed, and they have actually given an opener just to remove the seal. The tube contains just 60 ml product.

The product is white, which becomes totally transparent on application. It is gel like, which applies very smoothly on the skin. I first clean my face, then exfoliate it, and then finally apply the mask as a thin layer all over face and neck. The gel does not have any strong fragrance, just a nice, mild floral (rose) one. Sometimes I apply more than one layer. Adding on layers does not pose any problem, and it actually glides onto the face like a dream. It as if you are applying some sort of moisturiser on they face.

Since it is a transparent gel, you cannot see on the face. It does not make the face oily at all. It is a bit sticky at first, but after a few minutes, you hardly notice it. And do you want to hear the best part? IT CAN BE APPLIED ON TOP OF EYES AS WELL. Yes, I meant it when I said that I apply it all over the face. Sisley recommends to blot the excess off the face after some time (to take away the shine), but not to wash it off entirely. Well, I found that I donot need to blot it. It’s as if my skin drinks it up totally.
On some days when I am at home, I apply this, and keep it on for 10-12 hours before washing it off. You may apply it as a leave on mask at night as well. I have greeted guests, run errands and even went to work wearing this mask, and no one seemed to notice anything different. It can even be applied under makeup as a primer so that it will continue to work under your skin the entire day; but frankly, I have no inclination of doing that at all. The longer you keep it, the longer the active ingredients will act on your skin. And, I have no wish to rinse off such an expensive product down the drain after just 10-15 minutes.
I simply wash it off with water, and I am left with the most beautiful, Johnson baby soft skin. The skin appears radiant. It becomes extremely soft. The softness lasts 2-3 days atleast. There is no undue stretching or tightening of skin. It does not make my skin oily or dry. It makes my skin almost perfect. Sometimes, I apply a moisturiser, but even on days when I skip it, my face remains extremely fresh and natural. I have even noticed a reduction in my fine lines and wrinkles which had started to form on my forehead and my under eye area. It has never broken me out.
A very small amount is required for each application since it spreads easily, hence this may last me around 4-5 months if I use it twice a week. I just wish that it was not so soso expensive, that you feel guilty every time you wish to buy it. This has turned out to be an excellent and convenient product for me and I am now seriously thinking of buying one more. All my other masks are just seated on the shelves, ever since I started this one. I find myself comparing each of them with this one and find them lacking.

Will I repurchase isley Express Flower Gel Mask?

I am seriously thinking about getting more, yes I really like it.

Will I recommend isley Express Flower Gel Mask?

Well, that’s a tough one. There are many good hydrating masks available in the market, with much better hydrating effect than this one. The Clarins Hydraquench mask costs about one/fourth of this, and even the Chanel one is available at half its price. But do consider this….It can be applied on skin without anyone knowing about it, it does not make skin oily or greasy, you can keep it as long as you want, AND you can apply it in the eye area as well. Which other product will give you all this??? It is full of antioxidants and other good ingredients; so if your pocket allows, do consider buying this.

If I do not think of the price factor, I will definitely say yes. But the price is really outrageous. However, you may keep it for some special occasions, or for days when you are extremely tired and are bound to have less sleep. If you have the money and were thinking about getting this one, please go ahead. If you get it at any sale or at any airport duty free area, try to buy it. Rest assured, you will not be disappointed.

P.S. If you have very dry skin, or live in harsh winter conditions, try out the Sisley Black Rose cream mask. I have heard it is extremely hydrating.
