Directions:
After cleansing, apply to the face, avoiding the eye and mouth area. After 10-15 minutes, wash off thoroughly with warm water.
My Experience with SkinFood Egg White Pore Mask:
Packaging:
SkinFood Egg White Pore Mask comes in an opaque plastic tub packaging with a screw lid. I don’t like scrubs and face masks in a tub. These are the things that you may need less or more, and sometimes you may have to scoop out more during the process. Plus, the brand does not provide any spatula with the packaging.
Yes, there is no spatula provided with this wash off mask. Hence, it is recommended to scoop out the required amount of product in one go itself – either with clean hands or with a spatula. All the information is written over the tub in both Korean and English. Hence, there is no difficulty in accessing the information about this mask. The material is sturdy and lightweight, making it travel-friendly as well.
Texture and Fragrance:
This mask has a super thick, creamy texture. It just looks like as if the egg whites have been mixed with clay and are whipped together to get that lightweight but thick and creamy consistency. The mask is so thick that if I hold the tub upside down there won’t be even slightest movement in the mask. Despite the thick consistency, the texture is smooth and soft and spreads over the skin super easily. There is no tugging or pulling in the process.
The thing I didn’t like about this mask is its fragrance. The fragrance is strong, artificial and off-putting for me. Though liking or not liking the fragrance is a personal choice I had to mention it. The fragrance is very much identical to the fragrance of Skinfood Rice Mask Wash Off. Though the fragrance is milder than the rice mask, still I can’t stand such artificial fragrances. If you like your mask to be all scented, then you will like this. The fragrance is noticeable from start to the end of the process, i.e. from the moment I open the lid and apply the mask till I wash it off.
Usage/Results:
How I use it? First of all, I cleanse my face with a mild cleanser and follow up with spreading the mask evenly over the cleansed skin. I leave it for the next 15 minutes and then rinse off with lukewarm water. As soon as it starts to dry out, I notice cracks formation. When I try to wash it off with normal water, it becomes very slippery and takes much time. On the other hand, when I use lukewarm water, it is easy to rinse it off and there is no residue left behind. Hence, I would advise to wash it off with lukewarm water.
Rinsing off this mask is a bit messy because when I start splashing water it comes off in tiny white pieces, just like cooked egg white. Those tiny white pieces get all over the place – from counter basin to my clothes. Post rinsing, the mask makes my skin brighter, softer and smoother. It helps in shrinking up the pores around my nose, but the results are temporary. It does not make my skin stretchy as some clay mask would. In fact, the skin is neither dry nor moisturised. It feels okay.
The mask also manages to control excessive oil production throughout the day. The best thing is that the mask helps in removing whiteheads from the nose and chin to an extent and softens the remaining one. After rinsing, I just swipe a muslin cloth pressing little firmly to remove most of the softened whiteheads as well. The nose appears smoother and clearer. The mask also deeply cleanses the skin and prevents pores from getting clogged up.
Overall:
It is a good wash off the mask from SkinFood, but I like the Black Sugar Strawberry Wash Off Mask more than any other variant. This mask performs okay, but I can’t stand artificial fragrance. Similarly, I couldn’t use the rice wash off the mask and gave that to my sister. And, I am going to do same with this one as well. She likes using rice wash off the mask and she will also love this one. Hence, if you are not sensitive to strong artificial fragrances, then you may try this one out.
