Skinfood Royal Honey Hydro Cream Review

Hi Beauties!!!!

The product I am going to review today is Skinfood Royal Honey Hydro Cream.

Skinfood Royal Honey Hydro Cream

Product Description:

A hydrating treatment cream with royal black honey and royal jelly extracts that replenishes moisture and transforms skin into a nice honey-glazed complexion.

Price:

KRW 9900 for 55 gm (Approximately $10)

Ingredients:

Few key Ingredients which I like in this product:

Honey Extract: Honey has great anti-inflammatory properties and is a strong antioxidant.
Glycerin: It is a humectant which prevents dryness or scaling of skin.
Royal jelly extract:  It is a white, thick substance secreted by bees which helps in preventing wrinkles and heals acne.
Yeast Extract: Rich in anti-oxidants.
Ceramide 3: Helps to restore the skin’s barrier system.
Sodium Hyaluronate: Last but not least my favorite ingredient I wish present in every product I use. Also referred as Hyaluronic Acid which is a humectant helps in preventing moisture loss from skin deeper layers.

Ingredients which I wish were not present in this product:

Methyl paraben: Although there are some studies that says parabens are not harmful, but I still hesitate when I see these in the ingredient list.

Alcohol: Being a dry-skinned girl, I always wish there is no alcohol in skin care products I use. But as per some studies, if alcohol is used with in safe limits, it helps in penetrating the key ingredients well into the skin. Since it is placed almost at the end of the ingredients list, I hope very limited amount of alcohol is used in this product.

My Experience with Skinfood Royal Honey Hydro Cream:

I am a skin care product junkie. A good friend of mine brought me a bunch of skin care products on her trip to Seoul. I wish she does more trips like that. Any skin care product that has “hydro” or “hydrating” in its name will always get my attention. This cream has royal black honey which has more antioxidant properties than the ordinary honey.  As the name of the brand suggests, Skinfood uses “food-ingredients” as their key ingredients in all their products.  From avocado to wine, you can find their skin care line starting with almost every letter in alphabets.

Skinfood royal honey hydro cream comes in a gold colored, cute little but heavy glass jar with a honey bee symbol on the cap. To read the ingredients list and description, you have to open the label on the back and at the bottom of the jar. A small honey bee tag attached to an elastic band is placed at the neck of the jar.

For reference, I have dry to combination (mostly on the dry side as winter is coming) and dehydrated skin. This cream is in off-white color and has gel-like texture. It has a very mild fragrance which fades away quickly after application. When you apply the cream, it glides on the skin smoothly, but it takes a couple of minutes to completely get absorbed into the skin.  I apply this cream more on the dry areas of my face, especially around my mouth and the corners of my nose and a pea-size amount of cream to the rest of my face. After applying, it forms a thin film on the face for about a minute, later it gets absorbed into the skin and makes my skin smooth and supple. And also my CC cream blends well into the skin after applying this cream. Since I have to stay in air-conditioned rooms most of the day, my skin usually gets flaky after 3 to 4 hours. But when I apply this cream, it keeps my skin hydrated and does not reveal the dry patches on my skin for the entire day. I totally love it and don’t need to moisturize the dry areas of my face every 3 hours.
