Skin Tone: Medium to Dusky

How are things going? So Easter is coming soon and we are getting ready to go on a short vacation. I am really looking forward to that. Now coming to today’s review, Sleek MakeUp is a UK-based brand which offers some nice products at drugstore prices. I really love their collection, and recently picked up their Face Contour Kit in the shade Dark. So, let’s get into the review.

How to Use:
• Step One:
Prep your skin ensuring face and neck are clean and dry.
• Step Two:
Apply foundation of choice to create a smooth and even complexion.
• Step Three:
To achieve great cheek definition, using a small contour brush, apply the contour powder, starting from the ear and gently blending towards the direction of your mouth, building definition as desired and blending as you to go, to ensure all lines are soft.
• Step Four:
Finally, apply the highlighter lightly to the apples of the cheeks for a highlighted contour creating soft, yet defined and sculpted cheekbones.
Ingredients:
• Pressed powder: talc, aluminium starch octenyl succinate, nylon-12, dimethicone, bis-diglyceryl polyacyladipate-2, polymethyl methacrylate, magnesium stearate, jojoba oil. +/- may contain iron oxide yellow ci77492, iron oxide red c177491, iron oxide black ci77499.
• Highlighter: mica, talc zea mays (corn) starch, bis-diglyceryl polyacyladipate-2,pentaerythrityl tetra iso stearate, nylon-12, silica, dimethicone, zinc oxide, magnesium stearate, pigment.
My Experience with Sleek MakeUp Face Contour Kit in Dark:
The Sleek MakeUp Face Contour Kit comes in three shades: light, medium, and dark. I picked up the ‘Dark’ shade from this range for my medium-dusky skin tone. This kit comes in the usual Sleek MakeUp packaging. It comprises of a paper carton box, which contains the actual kit and a classy matte black compact with the name of the brand engraved at the top.
This kit comes with a huge mirror but doesn’t contain any brush. The ingredient list and usage details are provided at the back of the compact and also on the paper box. This kit comprises of a dark matte brown contour powder and a true gold shimmery highlighter. I feel the contour powder is quite dark for my skin tone.
I am NC45 in MAC Studio Fix range and I feel the contour shade is a bit darker for my skin tone. When I was using it for the first time I applied a lot of product and it ended up looking muddy. So from the next time, I started using it with a light hand and it was just perfect; it gave a perfectly sculpted face. It has a silky, velvety soft texture which doesn’t get streaky and blends easily.
It is finely milled and comes with a matte finish. I think it will be the best contour shade for people who are above NC45. The illuminating highlighter is a gorgeous gold shade with yellow tones. It offers a pearlescent finish and doesn’t look frosty. The highlighter is quite good but I am personally not a fan of golden highlighters. I always opt for a subtle glow but it is still a beautiful highlighter.
Both the shades work well as eyeshadows, too. Both the shades are nicely pigmented and do not need extra swipes for building up. I just swipe the contour powder once to get a contoured jawline, nose and cheekbones. A little product goes a long way.
The longevity of these products is just amazing. They stay in place for a whole day – almost more than 6 hours without any fading or melting. I am really impressed, I must say. So overall, it is a good contour kit. It is affordable and works as well as any high-end contour kit.
