Gold Base : Sleek Molten Metal Review , Swatches

Gold Base : Sleek Molten Metal Review , Swatches
Hello Ladies,
Sleek Makeup is one of the best drugstore brands, since they have some gorgeous palettes, decent blushes, superb lipsticks and loads of goodies. Sleek Molten Metal was launched a while ago by the brand, but I had my eyes on it since then. So finally when I saw some affordable deals, I picked Sleek Molten Metal in Gold Leaf and Pewter from Laylam.ae. You can check out their site here, I have reviewed my Coastal Scents Gel Eyeliner too, which I bought online from this site, HERE.

Product Claim :
Molten Metal is a highly pigmented metallic cream eyeshadow duo.

The palette consists of 2 gloriously rich and highly pigmented metallic creams that ignite the skin with intensity. The formulation is soft and fluid-like allowing easy application.

Price, Availability and Quantity :
Sleek Molten Metal in both the shades, is available in Laylam.ae priced at 80 AED each. The pans have 5.4 gm of the product collectively.

There’s one more duo, which has silvery metallic eyeshadows, I think they are called, graphite and silver. I bought the Sleek Molten Metal in Gold Leaf and Pewter Gold Leaf is vibrant chunky gold color, looks like actually molten gold to me, whereas Pewter is a silver based, dirty gold color it can be used under silver eyeshadows too, won’t make a huge difference.

Packaging :

Sleek Molten Metal originally comes in a standard and customary black casing. But I bought the refills so they came in pans, and a plastic casing. 

My thoughts on Sleek Molten Metal in Gold Leaf and Pewter :
Basically, I needed a vibrant base for my golden eyeshadows, or to be precise my gold based eyeshadows, so I thought I should invest in something affordable and with some decent pigmentation and this lead to getting hold of the Sleek Molten Metal in Gold Leaf and Pewter. The Sleek Molten Metal in Gold Leaf and Pewter are creamy eyeshadows, which can be used as a base as well as on their own. Read on to find out how I use them and are they worth the hype.

How I use my Sleek Molten Metal in Gold Leaf and Pewter :
I first prime my lids and dust on some loose powder and then I use my fingers to place the cream shadows on the lids and pat the product gently into the skin, or use a fluffy brush to create a canvas for other eyeshadows to sit on. Or you can also try this, prime your lid and put on a layer of a neutral skin colored shadow or may be a corresponding shade shadow and pat on the Sleek Molten Metal in Gold Leaf and Pewter, this will help the product to cling onto the lids better and also avoid creasing. I use it in the inner corners of the eyes too under the regular brighter shade for some prominent brightening effect. I advise you to limit them under the crease, since they may crease if you have oily lids or un-primed lids. 

What I love about the Sleek Molten Metal in Gold Leaf and Pewter :

• Price, pretty affordable.
• Packaging, the refills as well as the regular casing packaging are nice and handy.
• The colors are very pigmented and vibrant.  Love them.
• Creamy and super soft.
• Blend like a dream with the fingers as well as a brush.
• Great as bases, but over primed lids.
• Gives vibrancy to the eyeshades applied over it.  Bring out the true jeweled tones. 
• Stay for long hours, with primer. 
• Do not crease with primer.
• Do not fade.
• You do not need a lot of product since they are crazily pigmented.

What I hate about the Sleek Molten Metal in Gold Leaf and Pewter :

• PRIMER is a definite need to make these work. Without a primer they will crease, fade and get messy, and do everything which an eyeshadow shouldn’t do. 😛
• Oily lid ladies, STAY AWAY. It will slide away or crease DEFINITELY.
• Availability is an issue. But Laylam.ae provides you with it.

Final Verdict :
If you trust your primers, only then you can buy these. I highly recommend these for brides and for party makeup, since they bring out a beautiful vibrancy in the eyeshadows.  If in Dubai do check these at Laylam.ae . They are great as bases and as I said, try to limit them till under the crease for better stability.
