Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Legendary Review

I am on a lipstick buying spree these days 🙂 It’s sort of getting out of control because I don’t wear them as much regularly. I have quite a lot of brands on my list now, but I am trying to ask myself, “do I really need that :o” I believe all of you too might have gone through this phase at some point or the other.  Here is a review of another impulse buy from Smashbox.

Product Description:

Packaging:

The Smashbox lipsticks come in a black square-shaped packaging which is metallic and black in color, very posh indeed. The twist up mechanism for using the lip color is very smooth with the shade name written at the bottom of the case.

Shade:

This particular shade “Legendary” is described as a true red color by the brand and it is so! I have been in love with blue-based reds for some time now, so this is a welcome change.

Texture:

This is a creamy lipstick and very long wearing. The texture is buttery and kind to my lips which I love.

My Experience with Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Legendary:

I bought this lipstick some time back, but didn’t wear it as I am a big fan of MAC Riri Woo.  I can’t convince myself enough to fall in love with any other red lipstick 😛 After my review of Smashbox lipstick in Fig, I have started to wear this more and more. I have got a lot of compliments for the shade and the glossy texture of these lipsticks.  My friends say that these look so luscious and rich. The packaging is very simple, I mean not eye-catching.

There is no scent to it, which is a very good point as I hate lipsticks with any kind of smell in them.  If I wear matte or creamy texture lipstick, I do make sure I exfoliate my lips because I feel that makes any kind of lip color look good.

I was just browsing products from the different brands at Sephora when the SA at the Smashbox counter asked if I would like to get a makeover. I am so glad I went ahead because if I hadn’t, I may have never tried these awesome lipsticks ever.  I was pleasantly amazed by the super pigmentation and creaminess. I have included a hand swatch where you can visibly see that one swipe or multiple swipes look the same as the lipstick delivers full pigmentation in a single go. I am very glad that I gave this brand a try, otherwise I would have never known about them. These lipsticks score more than mattes as they are incredibly pigmented, long wearing minus the dryness that matte lipsticks are infamous for.

The lipstick lasted on me for 4-5 hours with some snacks and drinks. They don’t flake on layering so that’s another plus. You could choose from a range of 20 beautiful shades from this range.

• Glides on in a single swipe.
• Super pigmented.
• Opaque finish.
• Glossy finish.
• Doesn’t accentuate fine lines of the lips.
• Makes lips look plump.
• Does not flake on layering.

Cons of Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Legendary:

• They seem a bit pricey to me, but if I look at the quality, I shouldn’t be complaining.

There are no other cons that I can think of.
