Hello pretty ladies,
How are you guys doing? Smashbox has some amazing products to offer and I recently laid my hands on a few products from the brand. So, let me review for you the Smashbox Be Legendary Lip Gloss in Disco Rose. Even though I am not really a huge fan of glosses and am more of a lipstick girl, I couldn’t resist laying my hands on these lip glosses. They looked really attractive to me and I really wanted to try them out. Read further to know what I feel about this product;
Saturated shades of gloss with mirror-smooth shine that’s never sticky.
WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT:
Inspired by photo gels found on set, this gloss starts with a clear, hydrating base free of traditional heavy binders…
My Experience with Smashbox Disco Rose Be Legendary Lip Gloss:
The lip gloss is packaged in a square shaped lip gloss tube, with a black lid and a transparent bottom which showcases the color. The name of the shade is written at the bottom, and I feel the packaging is quite classic. It is sturdy and can be easily carried around in your purse. It comes with a doe tip applicator, which I’m not really a fan of. I feel it’s too big and stiff and causes trouble when trying to take the product out. Also, it holds a lot of product.
The color, Disco Rose, caught my attention the moment I saw it. It is a pretty rich red with pink undertones. I was never so excited on getting a lip glosses and I’m obsessed with the color ever since I got it. I’m quite happy to step out of my lipstick comfort-zone at the moment because I truly, madly and deeply fell in love with this color. Also, I have noticed that it has a slightly sweet smell to it, which isn’t overpowering and isn’t bothersome to sensitive noses.
I don’t know if everybody feels the same, but I feel that the color can be built up to your liking without looking clumsy. I mean, some lip glosses tend to bleed and are not a very good sight, but with this I feel comfortable layering on without feeling heavy. So yay on that! Also, it does not settle into fine lines.
I like how this gloss is buttery smooth and glides on the lips very nicely and evenly. It’s winter time, and these lip glosses are great to give your matte lipsticks a break. The brand has never made any claims regarding “moisturization”, but I somehow feel that this gloss, does something “MYSTERIOUS” :P. It actually prevents my lips from getting chapped. Anyway, the formula is creamy and buttery, and this is definitely one of my favorite traits of the product. The color does transfer while eating and drinking, and that is something you cannot avoid.
Being a lip gloss, it tends to stay put for about three to four hours and that is quite good. Also, if the lip gloss washes away, it leaves a tiny hint of color on your lips even if you haven’t eaten or drunk anything. So, reapplication is needed.
