I am so excited for today’s review as I have been waiting to get my hands on this product since it was launched. It is Smashbox Be Legenday Triple Tone Lipstick in the shade “Red Ombre.” It has been launched in 4 shades and this one is the bestseller. So, to know how it fared for me, read on further.

My Experience with Smashbox Be Legendary Triple Tone Lipstick Red Ombre:

It comes in a sleek and clean looking black packaging with Smashbox printed on it. Outer carton represents the actual ombre shade of each lipstick. Mine is orange to red ombre. The bullet itself is long and you can clearly see all the three shades packed in one bullet. Each bullet is 3.6 gm each, which will last for a long time. All details like ingredients and other details are mentioned on the outer carton.

When I first saw the packaging, it did look luxurious and when I opened the cap, and saw the bullet, I was blown away! I immediately swatched it on my hand. I liked the colour so much, but I was little confused about the third orange colour because it appeared like a neon shade. When I applied the lipstick on my lips, I was blown away by its effect. It looked so great. Although on my lips, I could not get advantage of having three shades because of my smaller lips, but women with fuller lips will rock it like a boss! I could only get two shades on my lips, so anyway, I was not happy with the neon-ish orange shade of the lipstick. It looked different on camera than in person.

When I wore this lipstick for a function, everyone thought that I had put in a lot of effort and time in doing an ombre look on my lips, but actually, it took less than 3 minutes.

Texture wise, it can be a little bit drying if you have not exfoliated your lips and have skipped balm underneath. It may accentuate your dry lips in such cases. With a lip balm, it glides on beautifully. It has a demi-matte finish which means it is not completely matte and hence moves a little bit.

Talking about wear-ability, it will definitely fade when you eat or drink. It is not transferproof, and gets a thumbsdown for sure. Overall, I think Smashbox can develop a better formula and then this range would definitely be “legendary.” It stays for about 3-4 without eating, but after that, you have to reapply.

For now, I am happy with my purchase, but I wish I could get more benefits considering the price I have paid. I would recommend this lipstick only if you are too lazy to create an ombre look with three different lipsticks.

Sadly, while doing lip swatches for this review, my bullet broke and fell down on the floor, and I was shattered! I fixed it up by melting and sticking together the broken ends, but now, I am scared to use this lipstick 🙁
