Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss – Sheer Color Review

Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss Sheer Color Review and Swatches

There are glosses and then there are glosses! They can be high-end, cheap, sheer, opaque, matte, mostly shimmery, and I’m sure a lot of women love them. For me, mostly, when I go out, its lip liner + gloss, but most of the time, I have to deal with the stickiness of the gloss, thorns with flower kinds!

Smashbox is a moderately famous line of cosmetics in US/Canada/Singapore. Before I came to the USA, I had heard a lot about it from a lot of people.  Their shadows and face powders are especially famous. The first time I ever went to Sephora, I was like a child in a candy store and I literally squealed :happydance: This was one of my first purchases here. The shade I got was “Glamour.” It’s a nude, proper MLBB shade with hints of pink and peaches and pearly shine. I mostly go for nude/neutral gloss shades. Oh, I’m wondering why I don’t have any dark glosses, maybe on my next shopping trip 😉 😉

Glamour

Cost:

$18 (I got it for $10 in the Sephora clearance bin).

My Experience with Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss – Sheer Color:

The gloss sure is moisturizing and glides easily on the lips.  Its very light on the lips, as in I don’t feel it.  It is dazzling and glistening for sure, but the lip plumping part is BS, I didn’t ever feel that.  I even tried applying lots to see if it works.

It is a great day-to-night wear for me and honestly, I think its quite “work appropriate” too. It is a standard long tube with a doe-foot wand and approximately .20 fl. oz. It has a slight vanilla kind of smell, more pronounced than MAC lipsticks.  It has a short wearing time, but then which gloss doesn’t??? I totally don’t mind re-applying it.

Cons of Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss – Sheer Color:

  • After a while, like after 7-8 months, it kind of peels off on the lips, like rubber, maybe it expired.
  • $18 for a gloss, ouchie. 😯

Verdict:

I give it 4 out of 5.
