Hello dear ladies!
Today I am going to review a Smashbox lip enhancing mega gloss true color in Petal pink.
Price: $19.00 for 0.31 oz (it was a gift for me)
The lip enhancing formula is enriched with Vitamin E and sunflower Oil for lips that are soft, nourishes and full of shine. The shade is a universally flattering pale baby pink color, perfect for soft, natural makeup looks!
What it is: A fan-favorite smashbox lip-gloss with an ultra cushiony applicator for the perfect pout in a single swipe.
What it does: Get the Smashbox artist’s on-set secret for high impact lips. This pout perfecting gloss boasts megawatt shine and an exclusive cushioned applicator that houses a ‘pocket’ of gloss to boot.
My Experience with Smashbox Lip Enhancing Mega Gloss True Color – Petal Pink:
I am not a ‘lipgloss’ person; I like to use lipsticks with different finishes from matt to glossy for the desired effect. I don’t apply a lip gloss alone, but sometimes, I use it on top of a lipstick. I don’t like lip glosses that are sticky, and hate it more when my hair gets stuck to glossy lips. This lipgloss is actually a gift from my friend residing in USA. Let’s see how it performed.
Packaging: The lipgloss comes in sleek, round, transparent see-through packaging. It has a large doe-foot applicator, which I find really large compared to other lipglosses that I have. There is good amount of narrowing at the neck of tube, which prevents the applicator from being messy and the applicator picks the right amount of product. It is very travel-friendly packaging.
Shade: When I got the lipgloss, I was quite happy with the shade. It looks like a beautiful peachy-pink nude color through the tube, a good everyday shade. But when I opened the gloss, I was a bit disappointed. The shade is very pale cool pink. Upon application I look like ‘dead’, as it totally washes me out. It looks totally unflattering on my light-medium warm complexion. It is a completely no-no for tan/dark complexion. I think it looks good on light skin with cool undertones.
Formula: The gloss is thick, quite opaque, with good pigmentation. But upon application, it just feels intolerably sticky-goopy. I have never used such a bad formula lipgloss ever. I feel like throwing it out! I don’t know if the gloss that I got has such defective formula or it is like that only.
Lasting power: It lasts 2-3 hours on the lips with light snacks. It doesn’t survive any heavy meal.
Fragrance: It has some strong chemical fragrance, which I don’t like. It stays for some time after application.
Pros of Smashbox Lip Enhancing Mega Gloss True Color – Petal Pink:
• It has very nice travel-friendly packaging.
• It has a very nice and convenient doe-foot applicator.
• The gloss is quite opaque and has good pigmentation.
Cons of Smashbox Lip Enhancing Mega Gloss True Color – Petal Pink:
• It has thick and sticky formula.
• The shade doesn’t look good on me.
• Lasting power is OK.
• Very bad fragrance.
IMBB Rating: 2/5
