My Experience with Smashbox Primrose Be Legendary Lipstick:
Packaging: The lipstick comes in rectangular shaped casing which is metallic and has a twist up mechanism as all other lipsticks. The cap shuts with a click sound. The case is black and the name of the brand is imprinted in holographic. The name of the shade lies at the bottom of the case.
Shade: The shade Primrose has been described as a mauvy pink on the brand’s website, but on me it looks more of a milky kind of pink. I feel this would look great on fair to very fair skin tones.
Texture: It is one of the creamiest lipstick I have used till date. But, still it is a long wearing and non-transferring one. Well, it make me very uncomfortable when I sip a cup of coffee or eat something and my lip color gets transferred.
Pigmentation: The lipstick delivers full opaque color in just one swipe, but even if you want to layer more it does not feather or get cakey.
Staying power: This has stayed on me for more than 5 hours with some snacks and drinks, but oily food will break it down. It feels very comfortable on the lips during the initial hours, but as the day progresses, it gets more and more dry on the lips. The strange thing is that it looks creamy, but feels dry. 😉
I got this from the Sephora store by just swatching it on my hands. I blundered there as it looked amazing on my hands as you can see in the pics, but on my lips, it looks milky and makes me look a lot darker than actually I am.
This could be an ideal shade for heavy smokey eyed makeup look. Well, I have used the same formula in other shade of Legendary and Fig and I quite like it. This time, only the color didn’t look that great on me and this time I learnt a lesson as well that ‘never buy lip color by looking at hand swatch’. I still love this range a lot and there are a huge number of shades to choose from. So, next time I will be getting a better and a darker shade.
Pros of Smashbox Primrose Be Legendary Lipstick:
• Incredible color payoff.
• Creamy texture.
• Non feathering.
• Long wearing.
• Does not settle into lines.
Cons of Smashbox Primrose Be Legendary Lipstick:
• Feels dry after a few hours.
