My Experience with Smith & Cult Nailed Lacquer – Dark Like Me:

Smith and Cult Nailed Lacquer - Dark Like Me Review

The bottles of Smith and Cult are one of its Unique Selling Propositions. The nail polishes come in a thick clear glass cylinder shaped packaging and the caps are shiny gold with uneven dents on them. When I went to buy these nail polishes, I was digging the whole collection to find a proper cap thinking that they have been dented while shipping. Ha Ha! 🙂 The gold cap is just for decoration because you have to pull it out for revealing the inner twist open cap which holds the brush. The bottle is one of the most stunning bottles in my entire nail polish collection.

The nail polish display counter of Smith and Cult never goes out of attention due to its unique bottles and look. The founder Dineh Mohajer has inspired the unique names of the polish as well as the intentionally dented bottle caps from the unrefined thoughts and feelings as well as the life experiences of Dineh.

I got 3 nail polishes from this brand and trust me, I wanted to get all of them at once. All the shades are so beautiful that you can’t settle with just 3 of these beauties. The shade Dark Like Me looks more like a plum color in daylight but, in indoors, it looks more dark and hard. Although Smith and Cult have their own base coat and top coat, I use my Essie base coat before I apply the polish.

Initially, I apply a single coat and wait for 2 minutes to let it dry and then, I apply the second coat. The nail polish dries to a sleek glossy finish and doesn’t necessarily need a top coat. The shade looks like a very dark aubergine color on my nails, just as it’s described by the brand. It stays on my nails for good 5 days without any chipping, but using a top coat prolongs the wear time even more. The nail polishes are free from all the 8 harmful chemicals. There are so many unique shades and I am waiting to get more.
