Smokey Green Gold Eye Makeup Tutorial

Smokey Green Gold Eye Makeup Tutorial

By Gurdeep Tak

Hey girls,

I hope you are having a wonderful morning or night. Instead of doing a product review today, I opted out to do an eye makeup tutorial. My review on the Makeup Geek Pigment in Liquid Gold inspired me to try this look, which is a smoky green eye with a pop of gold in the inner corner. This look can be worn to parties, clubbing, family occasions or even during day – if you’re bold enough, that is. You don’t need to purchase all these items to create the same look, you can use the products similar to the ones I used.

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

1.  You can prime your eyelid, if you have oily eyelids or want more vibrancy. First, I blended MAC Eyeshadow in Brown Script across my crease. This eyeshadow is so beautiful, one of a kind eyeshadow made by MAC, reminds me of a beautiful red/brown desert. Also, I applied a matte creamy eyeshadow from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette, under my eyebrows to tidy them up.

2. In this step, I applied Makeup Geek Eyeshadow in Envy all over my eyelid. This is a deep shimmery, highly pigmented dark green eyeshadow. *Tip: Your finger will apply eyeshadow more opaque than any brush invented.

3. Apply a black eyeshadow or eyeliner and blend it slightly so that there are no harsh lines.  I used a black eyeshadow with a flat-angled brush. You can build up the intensity according to your preferences.

4. In this step, I did a couple of things. First, I applied MAC Eyeshadow in Brown Script under my lower eyelashes. Second, I applied Makeup Geek Eyeshadow in Envy toward the end of my lower eyelashes. By doing this, you kind of create a sense of balance between your eyelids and lower eyelashes. During the first and second step, you want to blend the eyeshadows, and smoke them out a little bit. I learned that eyeshadows applied on the lower eyelashes can be blended softly if you close your eyes while blending them in a back and forth motion with a small fluffy dome brush. The last thing I did in photo #4 is that I applied Makeup Geek Pigment in Liquid Gold on my inner corners, I applied this very heavily, so it can open up the eye and be center of attention.

5. This is also a multi-step photo. Since I have small eyes and we are applying dark colors on the eyelid, I figured I would apply MAC Chromographic Pencil in NW25/NC30, which is a cream color pencil, to make my eyes appear wider and more open. And lastly, I packed on a ton of L’Oreal Voluminous Full-Definition Mascara, you can wear whatever mascara you want to or even eyelashes if you desire. And to finish it off, intensify any eyeshadow or eyeliner you feel has dulled out.

I hope you guys enjoyed this makeup tutorial and eye look. I hope you guys try it out too. It is a simple eye look that flatters and looks beautiful on brown eyes and warm skin tones. You can pair this eye look with a baby pink, n*de, or even a light coral n*de (MAC Lipstick Freckletone) lipstick. You can also replace any color to make it according to your taste.

Please comment me your opinions and feedback, I would love to see it and if you guys have a look that I should try or do a tutorial on, then please leave it in the comments. Thank you!
