I love body scrubs and polishes and especially during winter. Soap and Glory is one of my favourite brands for body care and I have already tried two scrubs from this brand – the flake away and the breakfast scrub. I was pleased with both of them, so I purchased the “Sugar crush body scrub” next and this review will be of that. Soap and Glory is such a cute brand with vintage girly packaging, but I feel it’s not only about packaging, the contents are also at least most of the time good. Winter is quite severe this time and my skin is dry as hell. I love using this scrub and then lather up some Body Shop body butter or one of my “I Love” body butters. This scrub is one of my favourites and I actually like this more than the breakfast scrub.
Soap and Glory’s cult-classic Sugar Crush™ Body fuses freshly-squeezed sweet lime, sparkling lemons, sweet vanilla musk and almond oil, with sea salt, smashed brown sugar, glycerine and macadamia oils to leave your skin feeling smooth, supple, and sexy. Miraculous on dry legs, elbows (really – all over), it’s energizing, exhilarating, amazing!
Instructions For Use (very funny directions indeed):
IT’S SUGAR, BABY: Use your Soap & Glory ™ Sugar Crush™ Body Scrub in the shower once, twice, or three times weekly, depending on the level of scaliness you struggle with. (Four times – even if you have ever been labelled “old lizard legs.”)
The main ingredients of the Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub include brown sugar, sweet lime, almond oil and macadamia grains.
My Experience with Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub:
This body scrub contains brown sugar, macadamia grains and sea salt in order to exfoliate any patches of dry skin you may have and comes in a large tub of 300 ml. The scrub is thick and gooey. It smells sweet with a strong hint of lemon, I feel this product smells like lemon/lime cordial. The scrub is made up of sugar grains of varying sizes, with tiny brown specks and bits which are macadamia grains. It’s gentle enough to use around 2 or 3 times a week, yet strong enough to really get rid of those dry patches.
I always find that my elbows, knees and upper arms tend to get dry, but whenever I use this, I know that they will be much smoother. Plus as it also contains macadamia and almond oil, these will nourish the skin leaving it feeling really soft. I apply the body scrub on damp and not wet skin in small circular movements as this is an effective way of removing all of the dry areas of skin. Afterwards, I simply rinse and apply body butter.
Pros of Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub:
- Effectively smooths skin and removes dead skin.
- Contains physical exfoliants such as brown sugar and macadamia grains.
- Has almond oil and macadamia oil to moisturize skin.
- The quantity is large and will last quite a while.
Cons of Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub:
- Tub is large so water gets in easily when used in the shower- I wish this product came in a tube instead.
- Might smell too sweet for some.
I really like this scrub and I feel the higher than average price for the product is justified. I also like how this will last me awhile. If you are looking for an effective exfoliator which is also not too abrasive, I would recommend this one. However, please test the fragrance out before purchasing as it might not be appealing to all.
