Soft Blue, Pink and Black Eye Shadow Tutorial and EOTD

I hope you are all doing well. I hope your Diwali went on wonderfully! Even though I don’t celebrate Diwali myself, the festive mood in the air, the fireworks and the parties were so much fun (albeit exhausting)! Now, it’s back to my dreary schedule, although I do have a wedding coming up which I’ll have to attend, so yay! :toothygrin:
Today, I’m doing my first ever eye makeup tutorial on IMBB. Okay, my first makeup tutorial ever, mainly because I do not consider myself an expert in any sense of the word. Also, because my camera kept giving out. So, now that I got new batteries for my camera (and a day off for Diwali :tongue: ), I decided to try my hand at this.
Today’s tutorial will end up something like this.
This is a very simple EOTD, and I have used the bare minimum of products. It can be worn on a regular basis, and can be shimmered up for a festive occasion as well. I have worn this to work also, so I think it is work-appropriate too. Of course, this does depend on your workplace!
Step 1:
Prime your eye lids, use under eye concealer, do your face makeup and fill in your brows. Here, I have omitted all this. No primer, no concealer, no face makeup and my brows are not filled in. Also, my skin is rather dry, though I don’t know if you can tell and excuse the wet hair – I was just out of the shower 😛 .
Step 2:
Using white eye shadow, pat on a line just above your upper lash line. Then, using grey or black eye shadow (here, I have used a sheer black), color in the outer corners and extend it to a little BELOW the crease. The black eye shadow should follow your crease (the line), but it should still be on the LID, and NOT in the crease.
Step 3:
Pat on a dot of pink eye shadow, filling in the middle 1/3 of your eye lid. Do not put it over the black. Just pat it on in the center. Do not worry about the harsh lines, as we will blend it all in the end.
Step 4:
Take an electric blue eye shadow and put in only on the inner half of your eye, as a line just above the lash line. As you can see in the picture, it must touch the pink portion, but should not go over it.
Step 5:
Now, blend all the lines ONLY. Do not blend all the colors together, as it would defeat the purpose of putting them in different areas! Only blend at the parts where two colors meet. When you’re done, you’ll end up with this. Do not go above the eye lid onto the crease. Keep everything within the crease.
Step 6:
Line your waterline with kohl. I prefer black kohl for this look.
Step 7:
Use mascara. I generally do not use mascara on my lower lashes, as I feel they look scary and too long. I cut my upper lashes when I feel they’re too long, but it’s kind of hard to cut the bottom lashes, so I just let them be. Yes, I am weird. I like short lashes 😛 .
Here, I have used only one coat of mascara on my upper lashes and you’re done!!!

Products Used:
I have used only three products:
• Rhomlon eye shadow quad.
• Oriflame Very Me Fat Lash Mascara.
• Lakme kohl.
Since Rhomlon is not very well known, here’s a bit about it. It is a very basic drugstore brand, but the eye shadows have amazing buildability (here I haven’t built it up much). They can go anywhere from sheer to heavily opaque. However, they do have a bit of fall out. I usually get these quads for experimental purposes. The only bone I have to pick with the whole thing is that I doubt it is available out of Singapore. However, I think they are a Tainan based company, so it is possible it is available there too. Easiest place to get Rhomlon is at Mustafa Center, just opposite the Farrer Park MRT. They have nice quads, palettes and eye pencils, and I also think they have lip products, which I haven’t tried yet.
