Soleil Tan De Chanel – 617 Terre Halee Review

Chanel Moisturizing Bronzing Powder

Gently illuminating, oil-free bronzing powder in the form of wave-swept sands delivers a naturally gorgeous bronze glow that never looks dull or flat.

Price : Rs 2400

How To Apply Chanel Moisturizing Bronzing Powder:

Use alone or with foundation for instant sun-kissed luminosity. May be used as a special-effects product for face sculpting and contouring. May be used as a concealer on ethnic skin. Chanel Bronzing powder comes in a classic black Chanel packaging. The case has a black velvet pouch and both have the signature interlocked C engraved on it. Soleil Tan De Chanel Shades Available : Chanel Shades

When you open the case, the lower part is divided into two compartments, one for the bronzing powder and other for the brush. There is a biggggg mirror attached inside the case. Unlike the Chanel Vita Lumeiere Powder, you do not have an option of refills with bronzing powder.

The bronzer design reminds me of desert and sand. It’s cute.

Soleil Tan De Chanel

Something about the brush. It’s a two sided duo-fibre brush.

Terre Halee 617One side has natural brown hair..

Chanel Brush

..and the other side has black hair. What I am guessing is that one side is for picking up the bronzing powder and other side is for application. The brush may look super cute and interesting, it’s sadly a scratchy brush. The black hair are a little scratchy so when you apply, you don’t bother too much about the side of the brush you want to apply. You just pick the colour and apply it. It doesn’t feel soft.

Chanel bronzing powder

Regarding powder, it’s  a very fine powder There are flecks of gold in it that give a beautiful sun kissed glow on the cheeks. The powder has a little rosy smell and it always stays on my cheeks for 5 t0 6 hours. The shade Terre Halee is a deeper brown colour and is good of people who have light wheatish- deep wheatish  complexion. It goes well for my skin tone. I actually chose the shade myself during my Chanel Boutique visit. The colour pigmentation is quite good. One or two swipes of colour is good to give you a sun glow look. The most special thing about this bronzer is that it doesn’t turn orangey as the day passes. The shade stays as is- bronze.

Also I have never faced any dryness with powder. Sometimes some powders tend to make  my dry skin flakey, this keeps my skin soft throughout.

Infact, this is oil free so people with oily skin can also rock it.

Bronzing Powder Chanel

Although it says that you can use it for contouring but I prefer to use matte powders for contouring. Soleil Tan De Chanel is a pretty goldeny bronze powder so it looks more beautiful when applied on cheek bones.

Swatch Chanel Bronzing Powder

Except the brush, the bronzing powder is to die for. And as it is I love bronzers too much this is just oh-so-gorgeous. Wear it during the day for  a sun kissed look or at night for a sexy bronzed look, it will never fail you. After Rouge Coco, this is my most favourite product from Chanel.

If you love bronzers, definitely give Soleil Tan De Chanel a try.

  1. Wow… I was already :inlove: with this when you showed it the first time….

It IS gorgeous… :inlove: :inlove: :-* :-* :beauty: :beauty:

Sad bout the brush though… 🙁

      1. HD,

I can shave even with a shoe brush or the steel scrub we use to wash utensils. In my hostel, using shaving gel to wash hair or taking sodawater/beer inside the loo (in case of short supply) was child’s play.

One of my batchmates at IIT mixed Maggi in a bowl of milk and ate when he was in Tokyo. Now THAT is a feat I can never match.

        1. :chic: :chic: :quiet: :quiet:

Maggi in Milk!! did he not get even hot water to cook maggi??

All hostelites have some weird stories to share isnt it?

            1. Nooo, you must go to Tokyo. It’s a common misconception that Japanese food is all raw fish and fish roe (eggs).

It’s actually not – at all. There are beautiful fried vegetable Tempura, Japanese tofu skin filled with sushi rice seasoned with sweet rice vinegar (Inari), you can also get delicious soup noodles with pieces of Teriyaki chicken, shrimp Tempura, or Unagi (grilled eel fish). Of course you can always fall back on Miso Soup (preserved soya bean paste made into soup – Miso is the Japanese secret to longevity)

Japanese food is a bit of an acquired taste – but there is something for everybody – not everything is rice rolled in seaweed.

Sorry, I’ll shut up now 🙂

  2. aahh sanjeev its good to see u here more then chanel actually ,i know she is out for shopping hmmm … god save ur credit card ….

    1. Hi Rashmi,

Yep she is out. She got the swatches for the MAC launch but unfortunately the ‘hipness’ blush (or whatever it is called) hasn’t been launched in India.

As for my credit card, I have given her the one which has the lowest credit limit

        1. Rashmi,

Isn’t this a loaded question? Do you think she is going to say no? It’s like whether you want a tall, dark n handsome boyfriend.

Tum log ek doosre ko bigaad doge. 🙁

  3. Well it is sorta small for a shaving brush…. :-/ :-/

Glad she doesn’t give it to you…. :rotfl: :rotfl:
Next thing we know you’ll be asking for her sheer lipsticks to highlight sentences in a book!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

      1. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You wud be able to read thru sheer lipsticks!!! BTW there is sale at TBS, you wanna take her shpng for some sheer lipsticks?

        1. There is a disconnect here in perception. These days she goes to select Citywalk so much that on special occasions we say to each other, “Honey, can we not go shopping today for a change and stay at home?”

And then, for a change, we fight over the TV remote (Uttaran vs Movies).

Let me find some sheer lipsticks….

  4. Using beer for loo needs is ATROCIOUS…….it could have got our nation good revenue….its the highest revenue generating product after tobacco………..do you know how much of the revnue you threw down the flush!!!!!! 😯 😯 😯 😯

  5. Well, I can write about food and fitness….I am losing nanograms daily and I make up for those nanograms by binging on food. 😀

  6. I dunno if there are ladies who are happy with this post and comments ?:-) …but I am sure Dr Mallya would be a thrilled soul :X-P: . Hope he takes a look at IMBB and rejoice the Good Times!!!

  7. Rati, Why you didn’t buy anything…what happened?????….about this soleil tan de chanel, the brush looks a little bit tacky and rough…not the kind that we saw earlier…..might be manufacturing defect kya?

    1. The softer he brush is for vitalumeire, the scratchier this one is. But the bronzer is precious, Jomol.

I wanted a the hipness blush and the first thing i got to know was that it hasn’t been launched in Delhi. So i was upset. Even the marine life highlighting powder failed to impress me after that. Took swatched, had breakfast at barista, did teeny-weeny shirt shopping and came back… but I am grumpu singh today. :-((

  8. some of them, exact same sentiments shared by my spouse (including some IIT hostel insanity; i can never be wrong abt IITians now :p)

isnt someone not going to like it – comparing Chanel brushes to shaving aids! :o)

  9. Yes, where is Rads, after a long time Mrun is here, and I drops Rashmi is here too….Priyanka…I am going to write a mail to her today……. :-((

  10. I am blushing…….. :silly: :silly: ….have you seen Jennifer Lopez’s…. :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker:

  11. me too thinking where is rads… i think she shifted her loyalty to MAC and is there i know she is a chanel girl …
can u believe whenever i type chanel i have to check the spelling i am most comf. in writing MAC hahahha hmmm big loyalties u know

    1. Sanjeev used to pronounce Chanel as channel and i used to be like…respect it. It’s Chanel. 😛

His loyalties lie with none. :rotfl: :rotfl:

      1. me too channel seriouslly i think by watching T.V. or youtube or may be some site i got to know its CHANEL …
u know how to say “GIVENCHY” … one friend loves it perfumes and telling me but now i know how to pronounce it correctly
i would love to correct her some day

  12. ahem ahem ***coughing***…Sanjeev, since beer is used as a nourishment for hair, we would all like to be excused……I steal my husband’s and father’s kingfishers and Haywards for rinsing my hair   ……Rati…what do you use for your hair wash……

  13. Rashmi…..Givenchy is pronounced as Jeevonshee…
Dolce Gabbana as Dolchey and Gabbana
    Versace as Versachey…..

I didnt know how to pronounce Cannes till a few days ago and Aishwarya Rai too prounounced it in an odd way, but now I know…….

  14. Ok..now I have to comment on this Chanel brush…You should see the brush they give with their blushes! You will call this one ultra-soft. Even if you kind of overlook the fact that with the cost you pay for a blush you can feel a family for a month…..Chanel is all about luxury and quality…and their blush brush….UGH…Sanjeev might use it to clean up the bathroom!

I don’t know if they changed the quality now..but the older Joues Contraste bluhes had brooms modified into brushes. And, no, I do not know how to pronounce that. For the money I pay for it, I will call it anything I feel like and the SA better agree!

    1. You know Radhika, when you pay so much you expect everything to be perfect. And if they can make a super soft brush for their powders, why can’t they for a bronzer? 🙁 The bronzer is so beautiful, i wish the brush was as good. 🙁

  15. I wanna see how you wear it…never used a real bronzer except TBS Warm Glow that i just got (which again isnt a full bronzer)
    so – waiting! 🙂
