2. Taking Bath Wearing Jewellery

Water is a natural abrasive and it contributes to destroy your expensive jewellery. Although gold and silver jewellery is not much affected by water, it is always advised to keep your jewellery away from any liquid.

You should apply body lotion and makeup before you wear your jewellery. Wearing your jewellery first and applying cosmetics later proves harmful to them, due to which there are even chances of skin reactions. Not to forget keeping your jewellery away from perfume.

Ultrasonic machines are the easiest way to clean your jewellery. They really clean your jewellery well and also clean the jewellery thoroughly with all the cuts there. But this is not suitable for all the types of jewellery. Pearl ornaments, emeralds, precious stones, cultural pearls should not be cleaned with ultrasonic machine.

6. Cleaning Them For A Prolong Period Of Time

It is advised to dip your jewellery in lukewarm water or may be into mild shampoo. But the mistake you would probably be making here is that you are submerging your jewellery in the solution for a long time. Over cleaning can be harmful for your jewellery.

7. Not Storing It Properly

If you don’t want to make any efforts storing your jewellery individually, you can buy a jewellery organizer from the market. It helps to organise your jewellery well and also keeps them safe. Storing jewellery in different places can prove to be a harsh behaviour with your precious pieces.

8. Keeping Your Jewellery In Open

Keeping your jewellery in open may lead to two major problems – one is theft and the other one is too much moisture around the air may be harmful for your jewellery. If you happen to keep your precious jewellery in open place, there are high chances of it being stolen. Even if they are safe there, the jewellery tends to look old due the moisture content in the air.
