Sonam Kapoor Style

Sonam Kapoor Style

Whether she is a good actress or not is yet to be seen. But Sonam Kapoor sure is a style Diva!
This young, vibrant, vivacious, bubbly, chirpy, full of life lady, who is a daughter of the veteran actor Anil Kapoor, seems to be carving her niche in Bollywood.

Not that I’ve followed her style closely but she sure draws my attention in any magazine, film or an award show. She has a unique, daring sense of style and isn’t afraid to experiment. She carries any style off with confidence, that’s what I like about her. Then be it her weird pairing of heavy gold jewellery of her mother’s with a chic black cocktail dress at some pre-award ceremony… errrr what was that award function… can’t remember!

I saw her in KBC yesterday… well not so smarty pants when it comes to GK, but she sure added some color to the show. Ofcourse no one can overpower the legend Mr.Bacchan himself, but she stood out with her dress, simple makeup, giggles and politeness.

I was going through some of her pics on the net and thought of scrutinizing her. Lets gossip girlies!

What do you think about this one?

sonam kapoor style

OOOMPHHH! A look to drool over. Simple and elegant.
A Victorian style dress in gold, brown and beige looks stunning with her long, open hair. I want to say her expressions and hair make the dress look prettier. Can spot some defining eye makeup, other than that not much makeup…maybe those of you makeup pros can add more. No jewellery at all, neither does the dress need it. Wonder who the designer is.
The messy, scrambled, just-out-of-the-shower hair frames nicely around her delicate facial features.

She looks a perfect 10 IMO, except the flabby arms. Forearms are thinner compared to the upper arms. Well she used to weigh some 80kgs before, that’s why the flab. Tone them up dear or go to your plastic doctor.

sonam kapoor trousers
Yuck! This one does total injustice to her. Only her bright smile and cheerful face can carry the outfit off, but not to perfection. Aren’t you sweating inside that shirt dear?!! The pants are too parallel IMO and please wear a belt to draw the attention away from that zipper. Red lipstick goes nicely with the red clutch though; watch and earrings are pretty simple and elegant too. Just the outfit is a big NO NO.

Doesn’t she look like Simi Garewal here?

sonam kapoor skirt
Again she has done what she does the best. Absolutely love the dress and the pumps. I like that she keeps her hair simple to accentuate the outfit. Great combo of peacock colors, perfect length and shape for her. The closed neck eliminates the need for the neck piece. What’s she wearing in the right wrist and in ears….can’t see. But I can’t stop staring at those pointy pink pumps…..wowwww! Clutch is ok types.

Hair and makeup again underplayed. But the flabby arms…Sonam, do something about them!

sonam kapoor white dress

This dress looks like what roman women used to wrap around in old days. Draping one sided sleeve looks very feminine and classy. She is not wearing big pieces of jewellery keeping in with the simplicity of the dress. Open or tied, all hair styles look good on her. This one is very princess like with that headband looking like a tiara. Little heavy makeup looks good too, otherwise with the white dress n minimal jewellery she would look too washed off. Overall her skin looks so flawless. Nice one!

sonam kapoor black dress

Can you donate that dress to me dear. I’m very poor and don’t have any clothes… please may god bless you!
It’s to die for. I’m so jealous of all the celebrities right now. Can’t say enough abut the dress. What a chic, urban, classy, smart dress paired with that feminine jacket. I like the pleated, puffed sleeves. The little bow on the waist is so cute.
Very smart hairstyle and almost nude makeup, love the lips!
And the jewellery is something even me and you could wear and carry off well. Pearls are always Royal. The pearl bracelet bordering the watch makes it look like a unique piece of a bracelet or a watch. Perfect 10 here too.

Almost ended the article here, but could not stop myself from commenting on this one.
sonam kapoor hot
Not so good sonu! She has a narrow frame and this dress makes her look shoulders look even narrower.
AND what’s with the necklace? Wear it on some lehenga or saree at your Diwali party. Looks too off with the dress IMO. She likes to wear her mother’s jewellery. But stop borrowing from your mother and wear something of your style.

Atleast should have tied the hair up for this closed neck dress. Odd combo of hanging down hair and necklace with a fitting, short dress.
Her arms look toned here though, or maybe a Photoshop magic.

Nevertheless, she is my one of the favourite style icon.

Probably more suitable words wud have been ‘earning via the business that has someone looking good as it deals with the beauty n makeup. also since one is in this kind of business, they r aware of the things that make them look good ‘
Donno wat I’m rambling….!! or u r getting it or not! but it was supposed to b a compliment!
wat i was getting at was i do s/w technical writing which is boring compared to this kind of writing.
but i fail to understand the offense.

Here it feels like a headmaster asking me to get parent’s note for not doing my homework. :spank:

      1. thanx yaar!
i’m in a very gud mood right now…watching the whole season of ‘Friends’ for last 2 days!! hahahhaa hilarious  :yahoo:

  8. i really like her personality and style with the arm flab 😛 , i really didn’t notice it before maybe because i was completely smitten by her style 🙂

    1. yeah its not noticeable….but when i read that she lost so much weight…i was trying to find some signs on her…..only cud spot it on the arms :struggle:

  9. I think she is gorgeous! I actually love how she pairs indian jewellery with western outfits 🙂 It is fun and modern instead of sticking to the old formula this is how you for sarees/ this is for dresses! But of course with style it is only personal preference so I think everyone has their own opinions on that matter 🙂
But I do want to say (I apologize to Geetha, this is not to hurt you, just my general opinion) that we are too critical of women’s bodies.. I find it slightly upsetting to keep pointing out to Sonam’s arms in the article. I think if we look at someone so beautiful as her and criticize, how would us normal mortals struggling with bad skin/ thin hair/ weight feel good. Such pointedness in commenting on person’s looks is triggering insecurities in others! On the other hand, I find it to be very common among us Indians to constantly comment on girls appearances. So this is not a personal attack on Geetha or anyone else who does comment. I just want to explain why I said this, I have a friend who is stunningly beautiful. She is slightly overweight and feels bad about it all the time, without realizing how lovely she is. Infact she does not even like to visit her native place because they keep commenting on her weight. After hearing that and reading this, I was too upset about our attitude towards weight. I am sorry to have posted such a long comment. I just felt like speaking up.

    1. sure….no offense taken. I myself am a mom of 2, n never hav bothered abt my weight if it wasn’t affecting my health.
well celebs r in the show business n constantly under limelight….so its a perk of their business.

Well i’m LOL while watching Friends season, so anybody can say anything n i wudn’t worry!

      1. looks like i stirred up some controversies here today…..its interesting.
Just lets keep it fun n healthy….nothing personal.
BTW anybody watches Friends? I sooo want to share some laughs!! :yahoo:

  10. I think her arms are perfectly nice 🙂 IMO, a bit of flab here and there is necessary in order to look good. :haanji: And honestly, just because she doesn’t have super-toned arms, it doesn’t mean she needs to go to her ‘plastic doctor’! And no, I’m not just saying this because I weigh 180 pounds or something!
And why would you scrutinize her for signs of her weight loss? :nono:
    Anyway, interesting article, Geeta. 🙂

      1. To Mahima and Samantha, doubt if u’ll read this comment now, but in case if u do…!
I just read the word FLAB somewhere and realised that I’d commented on Sonam Kapoor’s FLAB and not FAT.
If u had checked ur facts b4 speaking, u wud have understood that FLAB means loose muscles that are not toned or tightened by exercise. It has nothing to do with how much a person weighs. O:)

  11. I think pointing out her arms is unnecessary. Her arms look fine to me and she looks perfectly healthy. My arms also look like that if not a bit more “loose skin” underneath. I hope that doesn’t mean I have to go see my “plastic doctor”. I dunno about you but most girls I know have a bit of flab under their arm.. It’s pretty normal. I hope you thought about how other women would feel when reading your catty comments about her arms. So much for women sticking together. Not trying to be rude but I felt it had to be said.

    1. hahaha! I can’t believe how much some people r serious! Y do any of us need to personally relate to a third person who is not even going to know us EVER!
Ever heard of filmy gossip? Thats wat its supposed to be just FILMY!
