My Experience with Sonia Kashuk Bent Eyeliner Brush – No. 107:
I have been trying out quite a few gel eyeliners in the past few months. Many of them come with a brush, for e.g. the Maybelline gel liners. While the brush that they come with is pretty decent, I also found that it was taking me too long to get a perfect line with those brushes, the reasons being – the brush is quite small and picks up less product at a time, so I have to make small strokes and keep going back into the gel liner pot and get more product. I wanted to try an eye liner brush to make this process simple and quick. When I saw the Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush at Target, I was happy to pick it up.
The brush comes sealed in a plastic case, with instructions and tips on the back of the box. The brush has a white plastic handle with a black tip, with the brush number (No. 107) printed on the tip. The handle is slightly thicker than normal eyeliner brushes, which makes it easier to grip and hold while applying your liner.
The barrel of the brush is bent at an angle which makes it very convenient to line your eyes. This ergonomically-designed brush applies cream or gel eyeliner with absolute precision. You can go as thin as you want or make it as thick as you like! The main advantage of a bent liner brush is that it does not block your view while applying the liner all the way from the inner to outer corner, as a straight liner brush would, and hence you can easily and precisely line your eyes.
The size of the brush head is perfect – long enough and dense enough. The brush picks up enough product to line one eye, so you don’t have to keep dipping in your gel liner pot again and again. The bristles are made of a blend of cruelty free sable and synthetic nylon. The bristles are soft enough not to be scratchy but at the same time, they are firm enough to let you line the eyes as precisely as you want. It makes creating a winged line so very simple by just flipping the brush head such that the barrel is angled outwards.
I have washed this brush multiple times and it has not lost its shape nor shed any bristles. Even if you do not wash your liner brush every day, it is better to at least wipe off the product off the bristles to prevent the gel liner drying on the bristles and making it difficult to clean the brush head. There is nothing I do not like about this brush! And it is quite inexpensive! I love this!
