My Experience with Sonia Kashuk Core Tools Small Eye Shadow Brush – No 106
I first became aware of this brush when I saw Emily’s tutorial from Beauty Broadcast on YouTube. She mentioned that this brush was amongst her must-haves which prompted me to buy this too.
Sonia Kashuk Tools and makeup are considered to be very high quality yet very affordable. I have few items from this brand and I have been pleased with all of them hence I was expecting the same high standard when I purchased this and I wasn’t disappointed.
This brush is much smaller in size than any other eye shadow placement brush I have come across. I specifically bought this for the size as I wanted precise placement of my eye shadow since I am experimenting with different eye looks ranging from Smokey to multi colored hence I help to have absolute control. I love this brush because it is the perfect size for me to place one color in the inner 1/3rd of my lid and another color on the rest of my lid which would be difficult to do if the brush size was bigger and covered the entire lid.
The bristles are dense enough to pick the right amount of shadow to cover the lid area hence you do not have to keep dipping the brush in the shadow over and over again. The bristle are stiff enough but they are not hard or pokey at all. The rounded tip also gives me control in placing the colour in the crease and then blending it with a fluffy brush.
It also work brilliantly for placing a highlighting/ Lighter color on tear duct area for giving the “ Awake, bright eyes” look.
Sonia Kashuk brushes come in two variety for some of its brushes which is Core tools(with a white handle) and another is an Ergonomic type of tools which has a more fancier curved handle which helps the grip but makes it more expensive. Apart from the handle, I see no visible difference as far as the brush shape and bristles go.
This brush has held up very well even with multiple washing. I don’t see much shedding or the bristle getting misshaped. Overall I am really happy with this purchase. This brush will be very useful if you are a beginner in doing eye makeup, for those who have small eyes and find most shadow brushes too big or if you just want something which gives precise placement and ultimate control. I will recommend and will try other brushes from this brand next.
