Hope you are having a great day! Today I am reviewing a gel eyeliner from Sonia Kashuk. This is the Dramatically Defining Long Wear Gel Eye Liner in Ebony 03.

My experience with Sonia Kashuk Dramatically Defining Long Wear Gel Eye Liner in Ebony:

The Sonia Kashuk Dramatically Defining Long Wear Gel Eye Liner is available in two colors – Ebony and Cocoa. I picked the one in Ebony.

The gel eyeliner comes in a small plastic pot (which looks like a glass pot) with a screw-on lid. This eyeliner does not come with a brush. The color of this gel eye liner is a dark black.

The biggest disappointment with this eyeliner is that it is not pigmented enough. With one swipe, you do not get a strong black line. You can build it up with multiple swipes, without facing any flaking issues. But I did not want to have to build up the color even for a black eyeliner.

The gel liner has a very creamy texture and once set, it dries to a matte black. It does not transfer or smudge or fade through the day. This type of an eyeliner is supposed to be removed with an oil-based makeup remover, but on my very oily eyelids, it came out with just soap and water.

I wear contact lens and my eyes water sometimes. But this did not affect the eyeliner at all. The eyeliner also did not irritate my eyes in any manner.

Overall, I like the creamy texture and the lasting power. But I wish it was more pigmented so that one swipe would be sufficient to get a defined look.

Recommendation:

No, I would not recommend this gel eye liner. There are a quite a few other excellent black gel eye liners available.
